Who Says This Doesn't Work?

Yes. Persistence works.

I'd a meeting with a prospect this morning that i've been pursuing for close to two years now and every time i try to get her to talk to me over the phone, it is always one story or the other.

Yet, i persisted with gentle & courtesy calls to her until last week she said, please see me in my office this week Friday (16/10/2015).

I got to her office with my proposal letter but was told she had stepped out and they were not sure when she was going to be back. I told the Personal Assistant that i'll wait for her. While waiting for her, i brought my Brian Tracy's book - Adanced Selling Strategies and started reading.

I waited for close to 40 minutes and not long after that the Managing Director stepped in, saw me and asked me who i was waiting for and i told her that she was the one and she called my name and i answered.

She invited me to the meeting room and there we discussed - in less than 10 minutes we were done and she asked me, when do i want to start off the work? I told her i'll start off next week Monday and while we were rounding off the meeting she chipped in that she's trying to raise N30million Naira ($136,000) and that i will have to follow her to the Bank of Industry to meet with the Credit Manager so that we can discuss on the modalities.

On a parting note, she said, please, get to my office by 10am next week Monday, we'll leave by 11am and by 12noon we should be at the BOI office.

I said to her, "no problems".

Persistence sure pays.

To God be all the glory.

Brotherly.

PS
I must say a big thank you to the veterans in the house that freely share deep insight and workable business strategies for the benefit of all. You guys ROCK.

God bless you all.

Did she write you a check?

    Raising money is one thing....

    ...capacity to pay is another.

Her business is a thriving one with lots of activities. She's enjoying good patronage and she's also lined up some items to be shipped to the U.S.

Her challenge is, she doesn't know accounting and so she's outsourcing that aspect to me. That is where i come in to help her put sound accounting structures in place for her so she can measure, control and make informed economic decisions.

No, she's yet to write me a cheque.

After the meeting on Monday by God's grace, i'll bill her and get her to commit an upfront to get the job started.
