Very Confused Beginner please help

OFFLINE MARKETING

So I was browsing the list of good offline marketing threads and wanted to try my hand at selling websites to local businesses.

It seemed rather easy, but I am pretty confused on the details.

The poster recommended using the Homestead reseller program, however this is currently non-existent and from a quick Google search Homestead seems like complete garbage.

So I settled on trying to use Squarespace for this endeavour, however they do not offer a reseller program, so...

With Squarespace can I create an unlimited amount of websites? Can I still charge monthly to customers for hosting even when it's built into my plan with Squarespace?

Any help would be great!

I don't see why choosing a particular host is such a big deal. Pick one and get on with it, seriously.

No plan is truly "unlimited". They advertise it that way, but it isn't. They give you so many databases or memory and when you're over a certain amount they tell you to cut some from the team or upgrade.

Get started, and upgrade later when you can afford it.

It's not "easy". It's not especially difficult, either. But it takes a certain skill set which you'll have to learn...and most don't have the stick-to-it-iveness to reach.

The Homestead crap is nonsense for 2016.

Get a hosting provider for your own website, preferably a "reseller" so you can also manage client websites.

Then, all it comes down to is selling to businesses and fulfilling the work.

Grab a Hostgator reseller account start with aluminum. I've since graduated to a Dedicated Server but I still have my original reseller account.

Reseller Hosting Plans With cPanel & WHM - HostGator

and then start selling clients. If they already have a website no problem just sell them a keyword rich domain with setup package and just redirect to their website. You can do this even if you sell them a website. Sell the package for $149 and get the new domain name crawled by google.

  When I started, I just used standard Hostgator hosting and managed the site for the client without giving them access to the cPanel. Most of the time, they don't care about the technical backend part, so they don't mind not having to mess with it. If they have their own hosting, I build the site on my host as a demo and then transfer it to their host when we went live.
  
  Don't get too hung up on picking details... just pick what fits your budget and seems easiest to you and then expand as you grow.
