2 Cold Calls Today

We get cold calls all the time, as most brick-and-mortar businesses do.

Two today were a bit different:

1. Local paper wanting us to advertise. Not the "big" paper, but a smaller paper that caters to a very small (but affluent) area.

2. Someone who does debt collection.

The second one probably isn't going to get business from us, but he was pleasant enough. I asked him to email information to look over.

The first one I asked to email information, as well, and was quite surprised at the cost. (Not as much as I thought.) We may very well do some advertising with her. We want to have more business in that market/area.

Anyone here cold call regularly? Any good results from it?

    Cold calling is a weird one...
    Everyone hates it! - both doing it and receiving it, but it seems you had some good experiences today.
    I've done plenty of cold calling, and trained teams, and individuals.
    To be successful, you need to be very different to get the ear listening so to speak, get past the gate keeper, and get a response.

      I don't do cold calling, but sometimes I'm impressed by the calls I get. Some of them stand out because of the service they offer, the techniques they use, or both.

    I had a great call today on a number that wasn't picking up 6-9 months ago. Was nearly going to "dead" that number. Both decisions makers were on the call today. This one is 8/10 which I have a good feeling about. Proposal getting sent out tomorrow.
