    I'm not sure how this is helping anyone. lol.

    First, this article is from 2014. So it certainly didn't happen last week.

    Next.. Weird Al is signed to RCA records which happens to be one of the largest record labels out there. It's the same record label that Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Alicia Keys, Pitbull, Shakira, etc are all signed to.

    So they got money lol. They got millions of dollars to spend on each record and also have some of the best PR guys in the business.

    Also, consider that major record labels have an insane distribution network. They send out 1 press release and instantly 30,000 news sites are broadcasting it.

    And sure you can buy that kind of access.. but do you have $500k to spend on that media buy?

    Yes. releasing lots of quality content before launch helps build momentum and get exposure, but isn't that marketing 101?

    I have a lot of respect for Weird Al and the success that he's had.. But I'm not sure this is applicable or really provides value for most people.
