Do stock brokers use direct mail?

I'm thinking of making this group my target audience for a mail based marketing system. But no competition gives me pause that this market is viable.

Does anyone have any experience working with stock brokers in a marketing capacity? Are they bound not to advertise via mail? Are there any other reasons why direct mail based marketing (online or offline) might not be preferred compared to the phone?

Thanks

The main way stock brokers get new clients is cold calling.
Calling on people with money is the fastest.
But if you want more information on this subject, read here:
    FINRA.org

And if you saw the movie, Wolf of Wall Street, it was companies like that that created regulation in advertising in the first place.

I don't know, personally of anyone wanting to consult stock brokers. I know people in the industry and nobody is doing what you want to do.
I say go for it but know the rules and what a potential client wants.

Stock Brokers I'm not to sure I agree with DavePalermo on this one. However financial planning and investment firms would definitely have a need for your type of service. Insurance Agents as well are always in need of leads. Plus a life agent operates on the fringes of investments with universal and / or variable life polices and annuities.

Do you know of ANY stock broker using direct mail?

I do agree with DavePalermo. But, I also agree with you and the need in those other areas, financial planning, investments and insurance industries.

But, not stockbrokers. One reason, too busy and too fast, mail is too slow.

    Mail is too slow.
But for high net worth individuals, the ideal client, it probably won't cut it.
I know Dan Kennedy had a course on bagging high net worth clients.

It's how to find the ideal customer.

But if you insist on using mail, also refer to Mr. Kennedy, he is the master copywriter when it comes to this.

Yes, some do this but it is costly for them and is cheaper cold calling. Plus they can get into someones head better by talking to them
