You need to define who your audience is.

A burger joint will have a different strategy than a top-of-the-range restaurant.

Once you define your audience, then you can figure out how to reach them...

Probably Groupon - and then print out flyers with the Groupon offer as well. Make sure you are getting positive reviews online.

I have seen some of restaurants in my city use pamphlets with some free offers coupon in it and they are getting good leads from it.

I think that better is advertising in the business centers, special offers for launches etc. That is the best way as fro me.

It is very hard to grow a business through offline marketing in this digital web world.
You can probably use television advertising as the offline marketing tool.

For restaurants I'd give out flyers with discount codes or group discounts and try to distribute it to offices near the area!

Offline? postcard mailers are effective, as described in Bob Ross's 9x12 system.

Another unique offline method to consider --Go to Local hotels and inquire about leaving menus/coupons behind counter, and ask about in-room directories and consider advertising in them where you offer discount/coupon for those who show room key.

Some offline marketing ideas for restaurants: billboards, mobile billboards, group discounts, support local events, unique discounts for holidays, create strategic or cross promotional partnerships with non-competing businesses.

Focus your attention on the following groups that relate to your business:
TV and radio personalities (actors, musicians, reporters, etc.).
Marketing experts that have a better reach and more knowledge than you do.
Bloggers and social media celebrities (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.).
Business owners who sell related products that would mesh well with yours.

Another way to advertise your business is to offer some festival discount to attract people. Or may be free home delivery ideas using pamphlets is good one too

I know of an app that is meant for just that. You can customize it to your restaurant. Mobile is the way everything is going and if you want your restaurant to get more customers and then keep them coming back, this is a really slick method. The app, which is your restaurants mini website, comes with a custom QR code that you can place on things like your menu, table tents, next to your cash register, on receipts, etc. and when people scan your QR code then they are prompted to download your restaurants app. The app comes with 24/7 text messaging and push notifications, plus two way communication so your customer can interact with you and the content on the app. You push specials, sales, free delivery promos, etc. to everyone that has subscribed to your app. They can even access your menu and order via the app. It's all entirely up to you. Get this.... it's a silly little $14.95 a month! This is exactly what the app was built for. Would love to give you more info. Contact me if you'd like more.

I just managed to see this months ago. Didn't realize its an offline thing because it seemed to me it was put out by a mlm company. The interesting thing about it is that the owner could work the mlm and ultimately get it for free in the end. Or am I talking out of my hat lol. I don't think 14.95 a month or any monthly fee is a silly little price though. Everything you pay for adds up but if you could get enough people to go into the mlm with you then that would work. plenty of other businesses world wide might be into that.

Definitely worth looking into implementing mobile marketing for the restaurant.
    This includes everything from:

    - Mobile website for easy browsing on phone devices
    - SMS text messaging club to build a loyal base of customers who you can text out promotions, new items on the menu, and text coupons
    - Potentially develop a custom mobile app

Your customers are on their phone consistently and a mobile strategy can be fairly cost effective to put together as well

Put up ads on benches, buses and on public billboards. Also list your restaurant on yellow pages and run advertisements on radio and television. Arrange different events at your place from time to time with a certain theme for example salsa night,Halloween night or some kind of gala. Then use these events to market your restaurants on social media sites to spread the word so that more people visit. Set up these events on weekends to reap the most benefits.
