How to keep your content ahead of the competition

There's no doubt that as time progresses, businesses are becoming much more sophisticated in their marketing strategy and its vital that to be successful in this dog eat dog world, that you keep up! Its all very well having a good idea and running with it and while creativity is important, so are many other things.
Here are a few ways I've learned to keep my social media and marketing content ahead of the competition.

Find out who your competition is!
I like to start with the obvious but often people don't know who and what they're up against. You can get a good idea who your local comp is by some thorough Google searching and social media stalking. Anyone that offers the same product as you and talks in the same vice is who you should be keeping your eye on. This isn't to copy them, its so you can identify what you like and what you don't like.

Find out who your customer is.
Again, if you haven't already done this then I cant help! While you might have designed your product for women in their 40's, it's important that you focus your content on their needs. Do they need to save time? Do they need to save money? Do they need to be more organised? This is the stuff that you need to address in your content and which will help you stay ahead.

Talk about your USP.
You must have a Unique Selling Point. There has to be something that makes you different from all of the others in your niche and you need to hone in on this at all times. Are you cheaper? Are you more accessible? Do you do the job in half the time? Whatever your difference is, this is where your content will differ.

Focus on your existing clients.
Its a common trap that many fall into. They spend so much time and energy trying to get new customers that their existing clients get left behind. Customer service is just as important to future revenue as new clients (if not more so because they are already loyal to you), so don't forget to direct your content in their direction too (offers for existing customers/referrals etc)

Relate with people in your niche.
Once you know who you're up against, join forces with them. Ask if you can cross-promote services or create a package together. This will give you a wider audience to promote yourself to and make people realise that they don't have to choose.

Sharing is caring in this industry and success often comes from working together, not against each other.
Do you have any tried and tested ways that you've put your content ahead of the competition?

Naturally you must work on a thing that you yourself will enjoy reading. "Quality comes with care" . Should you be researching, writing, editing and promoting a content after trying your very best, odds are it is going to come out being good and also be "successful". If it fails, it will instruct you on few factors why it failed, which you need to improve in next iteration.

How does any of that keep your content ahead of the competition?
What does keeping your content ahead of the competition even mean?

    There's no doubt, please.

Also, businesses are not becoming more and more sophisticated. There have always been sophisticated ones and non-sophisticated ones. Or you have another meaning for the word sophisticated.

PS The advise is poor in quality and poorly written. Please improve upon both. And make the whole relevant to the title. Or change the title.
