How to get list of new parents in my area?

We get letters from college funds, etc all the time because our child is in that age. I want to know where do they get that list?

I am starting a preschool and want to get the list of parents in my area who have small kids. Is it possible? I would like to call them and invite them for a tour.

Any idea?

Thanks

What about putting some ads in your area? or going to other local businesses and asking them to put some ads, in exchange for something? Sometime offline marketing can work just as good as online....

Facebook ads could work. Pick your local area and then target people who are the age of young parents. Not perfect, but it would hit a lot of the right people.

Offer to send them a free guide on "How to Choose the Perfect Daycare for Your Child" and you could build your own email list.

You might want to also post this question in the Offline Marketing section of the forum.

First of all, congrats on this endeavor! Very exciting!

A couple ideas come to mind to identify possible parents with small kids in your area:

    1) Facebook Ads (as already mentioned) - Create an audience targeting your exact area, and parents who have 2-3 year olds. Then create a Facebook Ad with a picture of a bunch of extremely cute and happy children, with an offer of a Grand Opening "Free Tour" with limited signups.

    2) Identify all the little league sports in your area, contact the coaches, and ask them to email all of the parents your website link. Offer them something in return.

    3) Flyers on local bulletin boards (library, supermarket, gas stations).

    4) Offer a FREE SEMINAR at your local library called, "20 things you must know to get out of the Terrible 2's". (or something like that).

    5) If it exists, see if any of the local elementary schools have a facebook group for parents. Request to join and respectfully post to the group.

    Hope this helps.

    Great luck to you!!!

Thanks! These are some nice ideas.

One thing I want to do is when parents enter the facility then they get "wow". I will probably have to involve some interior designer, but I believe that will help me big time.

Those a great idee..from Rod Delapaz

You should also look form "forum of new parents "
and look inside for concerns or question that parents have.
Like Rob suggested ( "20 things you must know to get out of the Terrible 2's") that will give you more idee and other subject to develop

        :-)

Have you tried Experian? I know they have this type of data available. They get the info from local hospital birth records. You may also be able to buy lists from insurance companies.

Can't you go to the local courthouse or county government office and review recent birth certificates?
