I started a FB group for cold callers

Hey warriors,

My primary means of taking on new clients is cold calling, but I find it so hard to get motivated to do this sometimes I have to turn to online resources for motivation. I tried finding a support network on Facebook for cold callers but couldn't really find anything substantial so I thought I'd make one.

If you rely on cold calling for your business or have been thinking about it please join! I'd like to turn this into a great resource for information and support for cold callers everywhere.

Bad idea. Cold calling is not a "group experience".

Here's a better idea. Get a sales job where cold calling is part of the experience.

Now you'll be paid as you learn. Learning is easier, with money in your pocket.

You'll also have motivation (keeping the money coming in) No group can provide motivation.. It's all internal. Don't waste time or money looking for motivation outside of yourself.

At the end of 30 days, you'll have more experience, training, knowledge and sales ability, than any facebook group could ever hope to provide.

You'll have money in your pocket, too.

    Good luck!

Thanks Paul, and Hank you Ron for your input.

I have had a lot of experience working in sales teams, and it's with this experience that I've struck out on my own.

I am enjoying success, but like anyone in this game sometimes we lose the fire and it can be hard to reignite it. I've let my pipeline run dry more than a couple of times.

You're 100% correct that this is an inner game, but an inner game, that inner fire, it needs fuel.

I know through being a member of a certain dietary group on Facebook that I've been successful in adhering to and enjoying the lifestyle through other people's success stories, recipes and tips injected into my day through the newsfeed.

When we're unmotivated, or procrastinating, going out of our way to find some snippet of "fuel" to get us going is as much a part of the procrastination as the actual calling!

This is why I think it's a good idea, because more likely than not when we're putting off this stuff - the Facebook feed is where a lot of us are going to be.

If you are not motivated, you have to look at yourself and ask, "why?" Again, it's not a "group" thing.

Hanging around a group of "unmotivated or procrastinating" individuals, is NOT going to solve YOUR motivational issue.

You can't solve a "dried up pipeline" by joining such a group, either.

The ONLY solution is to get off your ass, and make something happen.

        That's it!

The SOONER you get into action...the EASIER it will be.

I stand by my comments and you can have the last word.

I think perhaps I focused too much on this particular pain point, and not on the value.

The group is a place for people to share their victories, their success, tips and tricks, and pat each other on the back.

The diet group analogy is perfect. We're all on this little journeys alone, completely isolated but when we can effortlessly network with other individuals on their own similar journeys it makes it that much more exciting and engaging.

Again, you're completely right - sales is an inner game! I'm just saying it doesn't hurt to have a like-minded community of people to share your journey with.

This is very cool...you will receive a lot of inquiries from people looking for cold callers. Your page could become a great referral source...may be able to monetize it if that's part of your marketing strategy
