Screw what you've been doing...here's how to make some cash...

Ok, I'm gonna do a quick post here on how to make some serious cash.

I'm not gonna try and sell it as a WSO...It's all free.

If you like it give it a try...if it works for you, great. If not then at least you tried.

We tried it and it worked great.

I'm not big into SEO or building websites and stuff like that.

I know there's lots that have done it and made some good money. It never was my thing, mostly cause I did ads and stuff like that.

Anyways...my friend called me up and was asking me if I ever heard about the 9x12 postcard thing...I said yes I had and she said she wanted to do it but she thought maybe it had been tried a lot of times and was kinda burnt out.

So we brainstormed and came up with another approach to it.

Hopefully if anyone that reads this has any better ideas you give some feedback.

My friend did this and sold the whole card in 3 days. I can upload examples if needed.

Anyways...

All the ads were Augmented Reality...all the viewer had to do was hold their phone over the ad and it came to life. There was 8 ads on the card.

The AR let the viewer download a biz app that had a loyalty card etc. It also had geo-fencing that let the biz send push notifications and all.

For those that didn't download the app, she installed a beacon in the business. It was only like 10 bucks.

Every ad came with a landing page also.

Each ad was only 395 and she still made almost 1600 on the postcard.

The concept she used was that it was a complete marketing thingy, not just a one time ad.

Everywhere she went business owners were jumping on this.

If you need anymore info I'll be happy to give it to you. Feel free to ask any questions.

Best wishes...

It's not quick...you still have to go out and prospect but it's almost a no brainer to most businesses.

I left out some of the details but I'm sure if anyone wants to know more they'll comment on the post.

Off topic a bit but this is exactly how I run Craigslist ads. Never give out all the details in the ads, this makes traffic ask questions which generates leads. Obviously I don't tell traffic it's part of a funnel.

How many cards were printed? How were they distributed, and who did the landing page? And were the loyalty cards a part of one APP or did each biz get their own APP?

    Sounds Interesting. Thanks.

      5000 sent through EDDM.

After almost 40 years in the biz I have some friends that are in beta right now and offer this stuff for free.

Anyways, I have a friend that took your headlight cleaning thing and made $1500.00 in one week working a few hours a day...awesome.

      Thanks for your question.

I can see the future, and this is (maybe) a soon to explode direction, how do I get more info?

PS. Funny thing, I have a fried who can't get or keep a job, but refuses to clean headlights, "beneath him", although mooching off his older brother and sleeping on a 4 foot couch, isn't?? Always glad to hear about a DOER.

I know AR, but I wouldn't know where to start to implement a plan like this.

I would like to know more please? And yes please upload examples.

Not to sell it just yet but as it is going to be part of the discussion in LA at DM's Content and Commerce in September I thought I better get up to speed a little.

It is a bit like the chatbots and other digital engagement tools.

There are a couple of developers charging some large fees to companies who want to jump on early.

It will have it's curiosity factor early on and then it will either become normalized so people come to expect it or it will lose it's effectiveness from a gimmick point of view.

I guess in the future you are going to see it as part of say google extends it reach into business like the 360 degree view and internal walkthrough. - They would be able to easily add the Augmented reality to a business and they already have the platform to bill them for it also.

So much like your ability to get on an early trend this might be one of those opportunities before the big players go out a scrape up the business.

I haven't looked at what sort of effort and cost would go into setting it up for a postcard campaign but the idea of getting one big client has been simmering away.

          Best regards,

          Ozi

    Ok, a little more detail.

AR has been around for a while...the big guys have been using it but it's kind of a pipe dream for the smaller guys because they think it takes a fortune to implement.

Here's a site that gives you a free 30 day trial (no credit card required), and no I get no monetary reward for you trying this.

Anyways, sign up for a free 30 day trial...create your AR and hopefully that gives you enough time to go out and sell it. You'll then have the funds to sign up for the monthly plan.

You can do everything from simple widgets...to if you're a whiz at this...create awesome augmented reality.

To answer some of the questions:

@Rock Mountain Dude: You put the ad together with AR then the customer can download the app and see for themselves how it works. Visual examples are always the best.

@Regional Warrior: No, it can be used anywhere in the world. It seems most of the countries offering the AR stuff are outside the U.S.

The link I give here, I believe is from the UK.

@Oziboomer: Thanks for the link. I looked at that site but thought the one I posted a link to was better. There's a lot of sites that offer this but not all of them give a free 30 trial. I always think a 30 day trial is good because then you can offer it to your customers without paying and then if they are happy with the idea you can pay and start the thing.

@Yukon: Yes, I didn't give out all the details...some of the best actually. I started a brainstorming group some time ago where some of the best and brightest biz people could brainstorm ideas. We discovered it was best to do by invite only because a lot of the people just wanted to snoop around and read the ideas without giving any feedback on how to make the idea better. We've come up with some killer stuff. Anyone can start their own brainstorming group (which I recommend), but you really need feedback and an exchange of ideas to make it work. I can give away a million ideas but there's usually always a twist to them that makes them work better...which I don't mind disclosing...but only if someone is willing to discuss it.

@GordonJ: Yes, some people are lazy. My friend took your idea and made some great money. He had a brilliant idea that actually was almost a 100% non-failure rate. I think you should use this headline: "Would you give me $50 if I Showed You How To Make $6,000 In The Next 30 Days?" Just kidding...but it's that valuable.

Anyways, here's the link for the AR site I was talking about:

Crazy offshoot of this idea... What about open/close signs? Like for a beauty salon, but the AR gives them a short video of the owner saying, "Sorry we're closed. You can use this page to schedule an appointment for the next time we're available."

Like the direct mail thing, it's largely a gimmick, but it could be sold as a way to put a "personal touch" on foot traffic that occurs after hours?

If I drive up to a business and see a closed sign, I drive away. I don't get out of the car and investigate.
