Local Offline Business Seminars and Webinars

Hi:

Is anyone still attempting to do these in their local market?

A little while back people felt like they looked too much like Storesonline so it seems it died a bit.

Maybe not seminars, but do any of you offer webinars for local Small Business Owners?

I am not sure I want to do the consulting or SEO. No as a matter of fact I don't want to do it. I would almost be willing to give the leads and business away.

Anyway...wondering if any of you do or did this.

    Hello,

I used to do 1 or 2 of these a day for my old company. They are very effective when there are specific agendas set.

Could you do a deeper dive into exactly what the focus of these SMB seminars are . I see you mentioned SEO consulting. Would these seminars be focused at pitching your services, products, etc...

I have done quite a few!

The think with seminars is they are great for selling, and ultimately positioning yourself as the expert. But what I have found recently, is that a lot of local online marketing companies are all trying similar, so there is a lot of competition, especially in big cities (I have found this anyway).

When I did my first one, businesses were excited to attend. Now, they are more wary or the pitch! ; )

They definately work, but you need some balls to deliver confidently. Afterall, people buy people and if you are standing up there sounding unconfident and nervous, people don't buy it, in my opinion anyway!

I haven't done any recently, within the last month or so anyway. With preparation and delivering the seminar, I find my time is best setting up appointments and pitching!

But, they do work and I would certainly consider running more!

I'll be honest with you. I can do the SEO, but I just want to do the seminar. I would be willing to pass off the leads.

I've heard they're not performing as well as they used to from a few friends of mine who have been doing them.

I think they work well. I run Internet Marketing and Social Media Seminars for 40+ people.
Usually walk away with several good leads and 1 or 2 new clients per event.

With webinars you will get a better return on your time. No rental fees, no legwork or flyers. Just JV with others and send emails. You will be surprised !

    Success,

I'm doing a small virtual class. Not to the size and scale of webinars yet. It worked out fine so far.

How are you marketing the local seminars? Do you target a specific profession or industry? What is the best seminar length and price?

Reviving a 7 year old post to get your signature links seen is not the best way for a fairly new forum member to build a good reputation. Why not start a thread and offer something of value to the community, instead?
