Services to Offer Clients

Here are some services you can offer your offline clients. I'd love it if other people chimed in with additional services too.

Web Design - Contact businesses that don't have any kind of web presence and design a web site for them. You can also charge hosting fees if you do the web design.

Web Redesign - Contact businesses who have ineffective web sites and offer to redesign it. Prime targets for this kind of service are those who have their sites hosted at Superpages or the like and don't have their own primary domain. Also, you will find many businesses who have ugly or out of date sites who are potential buyers of web redesign. Again, try to charge hosting fees to create a stream of income.

Autoresponders - Explain the value of email marketing and set up an autoresponder. You can make money of the initial set up, maintenance, as well as creating the content for the opt in report, autoresponder sequence, and monthly newsletter.

Video - Web sites are increasingly needing video to make an impression. Take videos on the inside of restaurants, interview the business' owner, put together an animoto slide show for the business.

Pay Per Click - If you have used pay per click effectively as an affiliate, then setting up a campaign for a business should be a piece of cake. Just make sure that you are geo-targeting so that a plumber in Iowa isn't getting clicks from people with leaky faucets in New York.

Search Engine Optimization - Remember, you can optimize a site on page and off. You can initially offer a website design with on page SEO and follow up with how important the off page factors are. SEO is one of the great ways to create ongoing streams of income as you need to be constantly increasing the number of back links a website has.

Traffic Guarantee - Guarantee that the site will receive X number of qualified visitors a month. Use pay per click, SEO, craigslist and other methods to meet your guarantee.

Ecommerce - offer to set up ecommerce sites so that the company can sell its products or services online.

Copywriting - In conjunction with other services such as web design, autoresponder, etc., offer copy writing services. If the company is trying to get an ecommerce site up, offer to write descriptions of everything in the catalog.

Local Listings - Get the client listed in the 10 pack (or six pack as things change) for the local service area.

Lead Generation - Instead of creating a site for a business, create one for yourself and sell the leads you capture to interested businesses.

Local Portal - Create a portal for your city or neighborhood and sell advertising space to local businesses.

Social Media - Create pages on Facebook, accounts on Twitter, etc.

Mobile - Mobile search is going to be hot in the near future and local businesses are going to be the major beneficiaries. Position your clients to take advantage of these services.

Auction services - set up sellers online and / or host auctions for them

Content Services - offer content services (in text, audio and video formats, in print and digital download formats, too)

Joint Venture Services - help hook people and companies up to benefit each other

Public Relations Services - outreach for greater public awareness via press releases, media follow up, events / fundraiser involvement, etc.

    Here is another take/idea.

Offer to do workshops and seminars on some of these techniques. I have made $800 a time doing some workshops on social media/email marketing etc for big companies.

Some times, big companies just need some one good to guide, consult and train their staff.

Workshops can be marketed directly, via commission based sales reps, jv'ing with other businesses or charities, through C of C or other networking groups etc etc.

Different types of seminars/workshops can be marketed in many different ways.

          Hey Riz,

How much do you charge for Google Places listings? Do you charge a monthly maintenance fee?

I started offering listings a couple of months ago and have had great success with it. I charge a one-off £77 fee, or £47 if they are on the fence and I just want to close the deal. I haven't tried asking for a monthly maintenance fee yet because I thought there might be a backlash if clients see that it is actually free. So far I've just used it as a USP that it is a one-off charge but the more I think about it the more it seems like a valuable service to offer when it's not much different from charging to get and maintain a high natural search ranking for a client.

I find it easiest to work with businesses that already have a website. I find
those that are on page 1 to improve with email marketing, etc. - the idea
is to make them aware of what their website should be doing for their
business instead of just being a "place holder."

I also work with businesses that have a website but don't have a good
            ranking.

I found it too difficult to try and convince businesses they needed a
website! It took too long and was just faster to get the work from
            existing dysfunctional website owners! :p

            Hey YOU

We do Google Places listings and have long term clients who love our work.

If you do Google Places listing properly and do the monthly maintenance for the clients to ensure that the listings consolidate and improve in the boxes you will need less clients and still make more $$$$ (or pounds).

Plus you create a residual income.

Do yourself a favour - increase your prices.

            regards

            Bronwyn and Keith

Well you know SEO is free as well right? So as webdevelopment?....if they know how to do it themselves. you're charging your your time and experiences. Don't go over the roof but don't low ball too much as well is what I've learnt from personal experience. When it's too cheap clients get worried.

Conducting seminars can give you massive paydays.

I have recently started offering Google Places listings as a service. I never offered this before as i wasn't knowledgable in ranking. Howver, a recent course purchase has changed things.

My first client for this service was a local clinic in the medical field. They are ecstatic with the results.

This one client resulted in putting me in contact with a larger Franchise group that has numerous locations across the country.

I will now be conducting a 1 day training workshop for their marketing department which will run for approx 6 hours.

      My charge for this.....£4,995.

A couple of years ago i couldn't even have dreamt of pay days like this. I would recommend all offliners to include seminars as a branch to their offline business.

In the past i myself would have flinched in asking for this amount of money for a 1 day seminar. My whole perspective on this view changed when i read something in a book which sticks vividly in my imagination.

I can't remember the exact wording but it went something like this:

A company had a very expensive piece of machinery. The warranty on the machine expired and there was a local expert who knew how to fix this machine.

Knowing that it would cost a lot of money to have this machine fixed the company bosses decided to try and fix it themselves. They spent several days trying to fix it but could not do it. Eventually they called the expert.

The expert came, had a look at the machine, opened a lid, tightened a screw and had the machine working within 10 minutes.

He then invoiced the company $2,000.

The company bosses were fuming, knowing that the machine was fixed within 10 minutes but the charge is $2,000.

They asked the expert to give them a break down of the charges and justify the high charge for a 10 minute job.

      So he did:

      Tightening a screw: $5
Knowing which screw to tighten: $1995

This story gave me a very important lesson and i hope it does the same for you

      Riz

Instead of offering a ton of different services, it is probably better to offer just a handful and do them very very well.

        Just a thought.

I think you are right to a certain degree.

But if you are offering web design services, why not also offer creating a mobile websites for the business owner. If you don't, somebody else will.

And once you have created a mobile website for the business owner, that can lead to you offering sms text marketing for the business owner as well.

Thanks, that's a pretty concise list. I'm currently focusing on Facebook/social media marketing, SEO, and Web Development. Don't want to expand too fast prefer to focus on three points instead of 10 aspects.

    Appointment Reminders -

I give clients a simple form that allows them to send out text and call reminders to clients. The profit is really good, and they love the fact they can send out reminders from their own website.

Do you get the clients ftp info to put it on their site? Then you do you own install? e.g. mysite.com/appointment-reminders-folder

      thanks in advance

Yea, you could give it to their web guy, or your or they can ftp it.

The clients I have using it are ones that I also handle their websites too, so yea, I just put it in a folder called /reminders. Password protect the directory though..
