Is Any One Doing Trade Shows?

Hello Everyone:

There is a trade show in my area tommorrow.

I am thinking of going in order to meet business owners.

The purpose of the event is for business owners to meet procurement agents.

I would like to meet the business owners who are meeting the procurement agents.

Anyway...does anybody have "pick up" lines or approaches or do's and don'ts.

    Hi Charles,

What I can tell you is that people LOVE anything free at these expos. Sure, many are only "lookey-loos", but some of my best clients now were "looky-loos" at one time at my expo booth. I would at the very least have some written material. I would always go all out with the candy-buying, so that seemed to attract consistent flocks of people to my booth. If you are not actually having a booth, and just being mobile the whole time, I'd still have a written handout at least/biz flyer/card.

Well since I have to go today, I think I am going to go with a Free Maps Consult or

I could go bold and give a no-risk offer.

Sign up and you pay me only if I can get you in the 7 box.

Or you give me two paying referrals.

Do you have an exhibit in the show yourself or are you just going so you can meet business owners there (a good strategy that can work).

I have seen many different strategies work from the simplest possible...talking to other business owners and collecting their business cards and following up with them to doing interviews on video for local business review sites etc etc.

      Kindest regards,

I recently attended a trade show with my girlfriends father - last year he had a stand and just had leaflets and his products (alternative health) - he got very little business. This year, he had Freebies, 2 very attractive girls giving 3 minute head massages and a few other bits. The queue was about 20 people long for most of the 3 days. The other stall holders looked positively miserable. He made a large profit from just products sold, but i understand he also got about 200 hot leads for other areas of his business. Basically offer something to keep people entertained and then when you have them in your clutches, your chances are a lot better. I think this approach can work with any industry.

      A most effective tradshow tactic...

Hire 2 very very attractive females
Have 2 T.V.'s set up with DVD players
      Set up 1 Computer...

Offer 5 minute Massage, and have them
watch your Kick Ass Promo DVD on the T.V.

If you have a Waiting Line...OFFER DRINKS with a Handout to read.
Pop is Cheap, $5.00 for 24 cans. Cost a $100 to hand out 480 cans
      of soda pop...

Bring them over for a very very fast 3 minute
overview on the web, and give away a freebie.

      Google business Listing
      Free Marketing Review

      or Make this Bold Statement,

Mr. Busines owner let me ask you a question...
if i could show you a way to cut your existing
marketing costs by as much as 50% and increase
you Net profitablity by as much 20% in 60 Days would that
be worth $200 and 1 hour of your time?

In 20 seconds you will know where you stand.

      Then... ALWAYS BE CLOSING
