Please Critique My Flyer for Today's Trade Show

Okay guys...I just found out about this trade show last night.

My flyer is attached. Suggested Changes?

This is going to be a front and back flyer in black and white (all I have time for)

I will be adding my business card of course.

I am going to try to get business cards and follow up with a Send Out Card with the map image on there.

If I can do it I will try to add the screenshot of their niche with them not in the 7 box. But that might be overkill.

Okay...so I guess let me know if you have suggestions for my flyer or my plan. I will probably leave for the fair at 10 or 11 EST, come back for my radio show and Q and A, then go back at 2 pm EST.

    Hey Charles,

    Good luck with the flyer.

I like the Flyer. Plain, simple and to the point.

    A few points:

    1) The images of the maps are not clear. Maybe they will be ok once vectorised and printed.

    2) 'Does Your Google Map Listing Appear On Page ONE?'
'When Your Business Category Is Typed In Google?'

Perhaps add in a few words

Does Your Google Map Listing Appear On Page 1 or your COMPETITORS?
    (IMAGE)
When Your Business Category For Your City Is Typed In Google By Potential Customers?

From my experience many business owners are not net savvy or truly understand the benefits of being on page 1, so a little explanation goes a long way.

    3) The bonuses might be better boxed so people don't get confused.

    4) Somewhere i would mention that you can only work with one business per industry. The fear of loss will trigger them to call.

Hope that helps with some ideas

You might consider a more benefit driven headline. Something like...

"Who's getting business from Google Maps - You or Them?"

It's short, to the point, and talks about what they REALLY care about. No one cares about being on G Maps - they care that it brings them in new customers.

That's a good one, he could also use something to raise their curiosity like:

"Your competitors are laughing at you, find out why"

That would get my attention too.

I've done a lot of testing in the 'offline' field. Whenever i use a headline like this one my response rate dips.

I think it might be because it sounds gimicky, salesy - or maybe uk business owners are just boring, lol!

James stole my thunder. Absolutely, go with the benefit driven headline.

They may not care about google or even know about the maps. But, they will care if they are losing clients to 'the other guy'.

In reading page 2, i kinda feel like the bonuses you offer soften the primary offer. You are giving them a FREE maps consultation. This has serious benefit, but instead of explaining what they can expect from the consultation or giving them any testimonials, they are offered the webinar (without date/time or the reason why they should attend it) and the interview on your radio journal (without knowing the reach/results of being on that).

So, I think I would lean towards ditching one or both of those bonuses. If I kept one, I would definitely hit on it's benefits to the client.

You may want to add your full website url too, since when I type in the url for your email address a blank index shows up making it look like the site doesn't exist. It isn't that the website it important for your offer, but if they are checking up to see who your business is it doesn't look good to have nothing show up. The easiest thing would be to add a footer with your contact info and full address.

Thats my 17 cents (2 cents adjusted for inflation)

Good luck and let us know what your final flyer looked like and the results!!

    Good points Scott.

Sorry for stealing your thunder - just call me the lightning theif.

Anyway, I couldn't agree more about the bonuses. I'd give them a bonus about how they can capture the leads from their website, so even if the visitor never comes back, the business can keep selling to them.

You're just going to tell them about list building, but they won't know how to do it - so it can (not only be valuable info for them) be an upsell for you too.

Totally agree with both Scott and James about the bonuses. I thought that when i first looked at it also - it kind of confuses the overall offer.

I love this idea from James about the headline:

"Who's getting business from Google Maps - You or Them?"

I would however add the word 'local' just before 'business' - from my experience local business owners presume business from the internet is only beneficial to regional or international businesses.

Also, perhaps have an arrow from the end of the heading pointing to their competitors on Page 1 (your image).

Didnt real all of the above, so i appologize if i repeat myself, but i think it needs one big website URL without any directories in it somewhere ont he bottom. visible. away from everything, or right int he middle.

Too late now, but in the future - split test your flyers.

Yup, just use a unique URL, password, etc. on each version of the flyer.

Track which ones generate more calls and which one results in the most sales. Note: they may not be the same one. Obviously, use the one that produces the most sales for future events and.. split test it against new versions.

Let us know how you did at the show today.

      Regards,

      John
