I am 2ND PLACE IN GOOGLE!

Hey guys,

I bought a website the other day for a plumbing niche in a town of 35K. I bought it either late last week or early this week, slapped some content up, and, within a week, I am #2 in Google searches! Actually, it hadn't even ranked as of yesterday, or, was it this morning?

That's VERY cool!

Thanks so much for the encouragement!

Jeremy

That's awesome. I was on here when you first posted the question about what niche to choose, either plumber or painter. I think that was earlier this week, because this new offline forum hasn't been up all that long.

I am assuming the domain name is keyword specific to the location and plumber?

    Yes sir.

    it's CitynamePlumbers.com.

Someone tried to do the same thing - but, I think it's just a "park it" site. It's CityNamePlumber.com.

I just have to create a plan of action.

      Well done.

This is very easy to do with many local search terms.

There's very little competition and google favors domain names that exactly match a keyword phrase.

If you'd like to be number 1 on google perhaps focus on getting a few high quality backlinks.

And if you want to increase potential traffic put some highly targeted content on the site.

If you have multiple pages each targeting a different long tail keyword phrase that is likely to get you a lot more SEO traffic.

This will be even more effective if you think through what those searchers are looking for and gear the content to move them forward in the sales process.

      Kindest regards,
      Andrew Cavanagh

    Very well done!!!

Mostly local search terms are easily ranked for as the competition is low. It is a big opportunity just begging to be explored.

What do you plan to do with the site?

Well - there is now a change...

I actually own 2 local niche websites..

      CityNameCarRepair
      CityNamePlumber

I NOW RANK ON PAGE ONE FOR BOTH KEYWORDS. Car Repair is on the #5 place, and, Plumber is on the #2 place.

      WOO HOO!

Well, all I have on those sites so far is a directory, and, a small "call to action" on the right side of the page.

However, I need to make it more inviting for local businesses to rent.

I hope to be able to lease/rent them out.

The plumber website is in a town of 35K, I would like to get $100 a month for it.

For the car repair website - it's in a town of over 500K people. There are well over 2,000 "Car Repair" places there in this town. What you reckon I could get for it?

you should keep track of the traffic your site is gaining now. And look on things that your site needs to be developed. Good job on your efforts in making it to number 2.

I just installed Analytics on my car repair site. I forgot to do that when I set it up 2 weeks ago.

    Thanks a lot, Balilong!
