Is it advisable to give clients a full page Ad in 1 of your Mthly physical magazines?

Hi Warriors,

I'm wondering if its advisable to package a full Ad page in 1 of my mthly
physical magazines.

I'm currently making a decent profit from running this magazine (close to 3yrs now).

I realised that by packaging a FREE Ad page for clients I can entice them to take on my 'offline marketing services'. I find that there are still publishers of magazines charging thousands of dollars for their full page ads, so why not cut some of them off (in the same niche) by offering
potential clients a FREE Ad page and 'Offline Marketing' for $2,000 to $5,000.

What do ya say?

Thanks.

    Shawn,
thats an idea, however i would really think about how
you are positioning yourself in front of your clients. The
better positioned you are, the bigger the checks, the better
the referrals, and the faster things go.

MONEY LOVES SPEED, and my biggest fear, you would get
business's taking the ad space, then screwing you on services,
as well as setting an Expectation for them. I don't own magazines
but i do have friends and clients that do. I just don't see
Print being nearly as effective in this day and age for Marketing
    as it is for Branding.

You might offer the space to client for sale...at a discounted price,
but only if you can create immediate results for them. Results are
what business owners are looking for.

    To your continued success
    Robert

      Hi Robert,

Thank You for your advise and taking the time to drop by this thread
      of mine.

Yes, I agree with you and the truth is - print media and offline advertising
does not show results. IM has proven results & clients get to see more
customers buying from them. Website analysis and stats actually show them that people are coming to their websites hence the buying mode is there. Not for print media. What I was trying to achieve, is to :

      1) Sweeten the package for them. They get Internet Marketing as well as Traditional print advertising.
      2) Show them how effective IM is for them as compared to traditional
      print advertising.
      3) Show my competitors (the bigger publishers), that I can get more clients.

My magazine currently is making profits with the regular clients. (These clients are still with traditional advertising. Good for me.) So, I can afford to give another 10pp of Ads for FREE, but these clients need to
sign on for my IM package. I know its an extra step/work but its a branding for my company that I believe I want to take. Moreover, my magazine is sold in a country where the big corporations find that having print Ads and online Ads brand them as a robust company.

Once again, Thank You for your heads up.

      Cheers!
      Shawn

I would say, why not? If you have the capability and it doesn't cost you much extra to add them in your magazine, I would think it could be a nice incentive for them that could put them over the top on their decision.

I know some people above act like print doesn't work and it's not affective, but you are the one with the magazine and know what it's worth. I also think it is a status thing as well. If a client got a full page ad in a magazine for free, results from it would be great, but it is extra branding and exposure for them.

When you add that onto what benefit you get from it, I wouldn't hesitate to try it out. If it doesn't work out for some reason and the benefits don't end up being there, just stop offering it.
