10 Ways To Make Money Offline EASILY!

I had posted this once a long time ago (on the old forum!)... And now that there is an Offline Marketing Discussion Forum, I thought I'd revive it, with a few updates of course.

Here is a quick reference list for all of you who aspire to make money with one of the many offline opportunities out there:

10 Ways to Make Money Offline:

1. Offer your web design services (Anything from a basic one page site to a major web development project)

You can charge anywhere from $300-$500 for a basic website (1-5 pages, links, pictures, menu) to $2,500++ depending on the functions that the website will need to perform.

2. Offer basic SEO (Search Engine Optimization) services to local businesses

3. Offer more in depth SEO services to local businesses and/or international businesses

4. Offer graphic design services, logo creation, etc.

5. Offer article marketing services to offline local businesses (you can fetch up to $25-$40 per article from offline businesses!)

6. Offer blog creation services for local businesses

7. Offer lead generation services

8. Offer copy writing services to businesses for their website

9. Set up autoresponders for local business websites

10. Charge offline businesses to set up a Facebook account (Fan Page) for them as well as Twitter and other social media sites (you can charge up to $1,000+ depending on what you offer)

Any of the above services can be outsourced, either right here on the Warrior Forum, or any freelance service website that you know and trust.

If you aren't skilled in any of the above tasks, you can be a "middleman" so to speak and still make a ton of money offline, from services that you do not perform yourself. Of course you better be sure that the people you outsource to know what they are doing and are reliable.

I'd love to hear more suggestions, methods, techniques, etc. from fellow Warriors so please feel free to add some!

Best,
Shane

Here are a few technical ones for people with an existing website:

    * Transfer website from one host to another
    * Website conversion from one CRM to another
    * Backup services (many hosting do not provide a good backup service!)
    * Along the website, get a customer tracking system (i.e. SugarCRM which is like SalesForce, with this you can make money every month)
    * e-Commerce services including the actual merchant account (you make money every month if you're an agent like me.)
    * Virus clean-up (some websites do get that problem...)

        5. Offer article marketing services to offline local businesses (you can fetch up to $25-$40 per article from offline businesses!)
I've just been paid $10,000 to write (not from scratch, but using source material provided by the client) and post 40 articles for a client. Do the math.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The prices you see on the Warrior Forum are way out of whack with what thriving businesses are willing to pay outside of the Internet marketing niche.

Other than the fact that Marcia is good at what she does ... she has the confidence to ask for those writing fees ... when it clicks in your head what value you are bringing to the table you can get larger fees ... one thing you should always ask a prospect "What is the lifetime dollar value of a client?" ... and that answer will tell you where to set your fees

Do you sell other services besides articles? I'm definitely interested in what you charge for other services, if you don't mind sharing.

Article writing is not my main service, and in fact it's something I rarely do for clients. This was in the context of an even larger publicity campaign in which articles and press releases interrelate.

However, I can say with confidence that if someone with good writing skills can get some decent articles of their own published in mainstream media, they should be able to convince solid businesses, particularly in financial services, the law, and health care, that articles would be a great marketing investment.

If you can come up with a comprehensive marketing plan that sounds like it should work and that is cheaper than running regular newspaper advertisements, they will be interested.

      Marcia Yudkin

P.S. We are talking about well-written, substantive articles here, not the junk that sometimes goes under the heading of "article marketing."

I think there are 2 important points in Marcia post. First one is price. She is very right. You are selling to businesses not Internet Marketers. You don't have to give WSO prices

Secondly, look outside the normal SEO services that everyone else sells. She did it as a "publisher and media distribution" service at a nice premium. Offer SEO as an upsell not as your "get your foot in the door" product. It is a game changer.

I'm currently offering SEO services to local businesses, I've made initial contact with my first potential client basically telling them what I can do for them and the affect it owuld have on their business. I compared their SEO to their competitors SEO and explained to them why they were ranking low and not showing up in search results even though they spent 1000's more on their website design that the other guys.

I also informed them that I have not yet contacted any other businesses in the area for their niche (the truth) and that if they wanted to turn the services down that's fine but it would go to business X next, followed by business Y, ect (also the truth). I did this to try and get the potential client to realize others may take this opportunity so if he does now he will be a step ahead of the game.

Anyways, my question is this...how much should I charge? If the client accepts, I plan to rank him on the first page of google for 6 local search terms, as well as place him in the top of the local business listings for the search terms. I will also write about 50 unique articles for the client.

I'm just having trouble coming up with a figure to quote the guy. Also, is there any other services I can potentially sale to the guy that might bring in a monthly income of 100 bucks or so?

    Thanks!

Great tips, as I was approached recently by a local business to improve their website and ranking and list them with google maps. I can see how this can be a very profitable business model and I've landed in it by accident.

I'm really excited and already have prospects lined up for the next job.

I recommend everyone consider this. It was easy to show the business I knew what to do by showing them some of my sites and their rankings.

It still seems to me that no matter what you offer offline marketing services is still a tough sale.

Unless that biz owner understands the value of what service you provide, you are still going to have to go through an educational process with them, to get the deal done. And this could take time and effort and probably a marketing budget for yourself.

      Hi gg

Offline sales is pretty simple and consistent if you apply your self to meeting the customers needs.

As offline consultants we are in the "business education" field.

This does take time, and effort - everything worthwhile does.

BTW - our first offline client came from a flyer distribution of 1500 to small businesses. We got ONE phone call.

BUT - we went and saw them and found that they had a need. We worked with them on a consultative approach and walked away after a 45 minute chat with a $5500 smile.

Then we picked up another $2200 a month or so later from the same client for other services that we helped them identify a need for.

Not bad for a $350 spend on the initial flyers and a total of 2 hours face to face with the client.

All up working time was about 10 hours so $770 per hour.

Keep at it offline is awesome.

      Regards

Wow, great story, thanks for sharing! $770 per hour is definitely awesome and made that flier well worth distributing.

We are definitely in the "business education" field -- Only I wish some offline business owners were a little more "educated" when it comes to how important having an online presence is...

        Thanks again for sharing!

        Best,
        Shane

Shane, I think this is a pretty common problem people are running into (at least I hear it all the time from members of my program)...

If you (and I don't mean just you, I mean everyone in this situation) goes around and tries to educate businesses on why they need a good online presence... you've got a pretty thankless job ahead of you.

It would probably be in your best interest (and your bank accounts best interest) to find the businesses who have a web presence, understand that they need one, but are doing it badly... That way you can swoop in like a hero, fix their problems, and find them glad to pay you for your help.

It might require you selling out of your local area to do this, but it's definitely worth it.

Congrats, Marcia! Glad to see you're still "out and about". :>)

Those of you talking about "educating" businesses, just might want to consider trying to hook up as a guest speaker for your local B2B Meet Ups, Chamber of Commerce, etc.

Don't try to "sell", but to inform. Be sure to bring plenty of biz cards. If you do your job well, you're gonna need them!

    Pete
