There are really easy ways to reach business owners in your area.

One is being joining your local chamber of commerce!

Just this morning, they emailed me the database of every business
in my area for just being a member.

Now, I have a couple options.

I can send out a direct mail campaign offering my internet
marketing services; perhaps focusing on SEO.

Also, I could send this list over to my commission sales person to
make some B2B calls for me.

Actually, I plan on doing both.

Not only is this a great local list to use, you can also use your
leverage of being a chamber member when you contact these
businesses. You are credible in the community and have taken steps
to show that you offer real services to local small business owners.

I also have noticed that they love working with you if you are
local. Even though we can get clients from all over the world, it's
best we start local because it's easier to sell and you can really
help out your own backyard!

      Volunteering with the school or PTO is another great thing you can do. Not only will you inevitably get asked, "What do you do?", but you'll also be giving back to your children's school.

    Besides going to Chamber meetings, I attend BNI International - Business Networking and Referrals and Business Networking and Business Referrals by LeTip International, Inc. I carry business cards and have impressive LinkedIn Profile that I show to potential clients who are looking for references.

    Take action today! The problem with us IM'ers is that we are in front of the computer too much! Lol

    Take a break and meet business owners and just talk to them. It's really easy to sell them what you do since they are really interested and respect your knowledge.

    Remember, most barely know how to check email!

      Wise words....remember that these are real people in a real world who are use to doing business face to face and that's where they feel comfortable making decisions...familiar territory - been a sales person for years now and know the importance of the familiar in the sales process....they like it and are therefore inclined to buy if the offer is right...
