Facebook fanpages for offline clients?

I am interested in offering facebook fanpage creation and promotion services to offline clients. Of course being that I have not yet actually created a fanpage I have bought a WSO on the subject, but can anyone share their experience with the service?

I did some research and from what I have seen there is some demand here. I have seen discussions from attorneys about fanpage marketing among other niches. And fiverr has plenty of low cost marketing opportunities to get the ball rolling for clients.

Edit: I got the idea from russells from another thread I started about emailing clients.

We probably have the same WSO on this .

I am adding FB Fanpages to my line-up and have started to collect my list of prospects. I will keep you posted on my progress...

Looking forward to seeing any feedback on this in the meantime.

I plan on a Fanpage creation and marketing service, with the WSO PLR product as a bonus. Hell there are people on fiverr who will make the damn thing for 5 bucks. But I am willing to pay a lot more than that for someone who has high quality samples to show prospects.

Btw, that business model has helped me tremendously with my web design business. I have a few good outsourcers (not from fiverr) in which I can show THEIR previous work to prospects to get a new sale. I plan to do the same with Fanpages...

The service to offer with Facebook is custom landing pages. This is the one thing with setting up a business page that requires some skill and the design portion is out of reach of most small business owners.

I agree with Shane, it's the custom landing pages that are best to offer your clients.

Anybody can set up a standard Facebook page, but a custom landing page requires a seperate application (Static FBML) and customization. You can incentivize the "liking" of a page and build up their fanbase which in turn ends up being the same thing as a customer list that they can contact on a regular basis through updates on Facebook.

The FBML used for the landing pages can still be tricky as it is similar to HTML, so it's not the easiest thing for a non programmer type to deal with, that's why I created simple copy and paste templates to use that make it a whole lot easier.

Facebook fanpages and all other services offered to an offline business should be part of an overall marketing mix if it fits in with their particular needs at the time.

With Facebook banning pages left right and centre it is better not to have all your eggs in one basket.

Banning pages left, right and center? I don't think so. Legitimate, well designed, unobtrusive tabs and landing pages will never get banned. If they do, then you're doing something against their TOS.

What i meant was that it should be one part of the marketing mix as you never know when they may change the rules.

Take the Google slaps as a prime example. Individuals and businesses were getting banned for no apparent reason at times for rule breaking they were not even aware of.

Facebook also have some unwritten rules you may not be aware of thus the reason i suggested that FB should only be one part of your marketing mix

Yes I'm actually currently contacting businesses offering facebook fans service at the same time I try to pitch them custom FBML code for a very reasonable price. I also toss in some free bonuses such as consultation, customization of my free viral fbml code and full installation to make it as simple for them. So far I've had some interest.

I think thisis easier to pitch then web consulting for net development or SEO because this isn't fully saturated yet.

    Hey Michael,

I think this a great service. I have a friend who does this and is doing quite well. He would approach companies with a basic "Do you have anyone taking care of your social media marketing?" Then get into his spiel.I think he is charging them around $600 for him to manage their FB fan page(s) and build their fan base.

After he told me what he was doing, I helped him make a proper social media plan that would potentially generate more fans. Just for an example, create one major page that you can brand their company. Then, you have to think outside the box and build a handful of mini viral campaigns. This will help attract more people to the main fan page. Anyways, this is a thread of its own, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

There is a huge demand for FBML templates. I think too many are offering their services for it without having a full understanding of the FBML coding language though. There is a lot of cool functionality you can incorporate like image galleries, and video galleries etc. We work with a provider that just started offering his services to the public. Its in my sig if anyone wants to see his work.

$600 per month actually isn't that much to manage fan page following and grow their likes. You figure you will have to make daily wall posts and then create an enticing contest to draw in more likes or use a freebie to get them to like the page in order to get it. We have run several promotions for fan pages and charged at least double that. Depending on the size of the contest and length you can expect big fan gains. Also Facebook will ban accounts they find linked together, by ip address etc. So I would get a central page and push a ton of fans to it using outside viral pages all based off proxy or different ips. That is all bigprizes did and now they have a fan page of over a million.

I havent bought the WSO but I did check out Northsocial.com It basically makes it very very easy to create fanpages and install really cool apps, like GoogleMaps, and Sweepstakes on your clients facebook page. The one I really like is called Fan offer. Perfect for a local small business. If you have basic Powerpoint skills you can make really cool pages. I think they have a reseller program too?

I think Northsocial is ok for doing 1 or 2 tabs but if you want to add in lots of content you would be better off creating multi-tab structure like a mini site. With Northsocial you would have to create a tab for each feature you want to use from my understanding. Multi-navigation tab would be multiple pages within one tab. It all depends on what you want to include on your fan page.

This is a MUST service to offer to local and global businesses - got a $18k contract from an EXISTIG client (hint- this is a great upsell for your existing clients) to do not only Facebook - but integrate to twitter/youtube and train their team how to build their community on it-

..and the power of SEO for that facebook page...HUGE

You can also offer this as a lead gen for getting clients- a basic biz facebook page for ridiculously low or GASP ...FREE...and then get the client, build trust and use the Consulting Profit Chain methodology and upsell to variety of services such as

    - build a custom email marketing system (translation -install aweber code onto new facebook tab on their biz page) and create that 'lead gen magnet' for them (free report, audio, etc.)

    - put on a 'coupon' tab on their biz page

note - all of these service can add up to GREAT revenue for you and your client gets great value out of it!

    - SEO service to the facebook page
    - run 'EVENTs' for the business
    etc etc.
I could name at least 20 more facebook monetization strategies and it is that important for any business!

Believe it or now - businesses are STILL thinking 'RADIO' for ads -

    no kidding!

I was in a huge retail store today - dropped about $800 on a electric fireplace (yes I'm in Canada and it's getting cccold), an photography leather 'stool', dehumidifier, etc.

and they asked 'what do you do" - I said I help businesses like yours get more customers and sales by building your brand on Facebook -

Up next - she said - Wow - we were just going over our budget for advertising and was about to allocate it to radio ads

CAn we have you meet the owners when they are back in town?

      Maria,

What are some of the simple methods you use to help a business build a fan page following. This would be aside from the normal things like making sure the company has its facebook fan page url placed on all the print media, etc. etc.

Don't you just love it when your asked what you do and the response is, WOW we want to talk to you!

I think many business owners instinctively know the value, but I feel many of them just don't know how to connect the dots to make it work for them.

Have fun sipping the wine of success in front of your new electric fireplace! = )

One of my future products will include many templates for facebook fanpages. I was actually going to release it like last year and was waiting for the changes to take effect.

Anyway the coupon thing is very easy.

Another thing is that honestly, I am starting to think that though a fanpage is one step, you also need to build a customer an application. Doing so will make it grow even faster and will really make your fan page grow,

I created a fan page at first as proof of concept for an advertising model I was creating, then turned it into a squeeze page for people in my local area.

I built a list pretty quick and then sold promotions to local businesses.

Giving stuff away (like visa gift cards or hotel stays) is one of the quickest ways to start a "like" frenzy that can add dozens or hundreds of people to a fan page in no time.

In a lot of cases, if you have the right pitch, businesses will actually give you stuff to giveaway.

        YES!!

As an added value, I find it useful for posting special offers. They can then
send people to their FB page to become a fan to get the special offers.

Of course, you have to only make the offer available AFTER they are a fan.
That takes special coding on the page.

I absolutely agree. We put special offers all over the place so people will not only get interested in our services, but also tell us where they saw the offer (to let us know which of our ads are working best).

Fanpages are definitely hot as I have cusotmers who are requesting help with them or are very receptive when I bring it up as a possible addition to my services. Just bought Jameson's WSO (see above, its excellent) and will look at some other resources mentioned as well. Personally I think I will focus on one niche to market fanpages at first.
