I have outsourced my SEO specialist for some of my sites, I'd like to know your thoughts regarding salary and the load of work, how many websites should 1 SEO person handle?

Depends on how good they are. I would say at the least $500 a month

Actually SEO specialists mostly do one-time website assessment and just monitor a site's progress once in while. They don't really work 8 hours/day. It's the link builders that do the grunt work.

It all boils down on the quality of the work. Whether it's expensive or not, what's important is that they are doing what they claim that they can do. Sparing a few hundred bucks for a quality SEO service isn't a bad idea after all.

      Real simple ...

Get a very tightly defined scope of work and put it out to bid.

Of course if they are working in your office you will know how many projects they can handle by the results they create. If they are independent they maybe outsourcing their end of it too therefore you will never know.

Have them prove to you they can handle the workload and have them quote a price first then negotiate from there.

      T.R.

I would learn it yourself and save the money. I did this last year and now have sites on the first page of google.

          How is this relevant?
Scaling up is impossible doing everything yourself.

What would you prefer, 50% of 20k$ or 100% of 5k$? (made up numbers but that's what happens to normal businesses)

It depends on which country they come from. SEO service from the Philippines are generally cheaper than SEO service from India. SEO service from India should be cheaper than SEO services in the US, Australia or the UK. Their ability to improve your website's ranking, their experience and knowledge will govern how much they will charge.

It could vary from $150 per month to $600 per month and can take up to 6 months to get your website to Page One ranking depending on how competitive the SEO keywords or key phrases are. Since the quote is on per website, 7 keywords or key phrases could costs from $150 to 12 SEO keywords for around $500. They usually like to check on the competition level of the keywords or phrases before they quote on the job. If the competition level is much higher, they are likely to ask for more money. You can ask them how many keywords or phrases you will get based on your budget, they will do the research and should present the % competition level on those keywords and the searches within that country or global depending on who you are reaching.

You can try and learn SEO yourself but it takes time. Most entrepreneurs say if you can outsource it and have the money to do, do it and focus on making money. SEO service should include seo content, link building, directory listings, video integration and much much more that will boost your website's visibility.

Most SEO specialist can handle quite a bit of workload and they should have a project management software that allows you secure access to the 'live status' of project delivery.

Hope that helps. I have just started Aussie Bonzer Warrior in the Warrior Forum Community social groups, feel free to join.

          G'day, Theresa

Even I think that $500 will be a perfect salary for SEO specialist. In our company they almost provide $600 and quite a big amount goes to link builder because they are the only hard workers who really brings the site at the top position.

I am charging $500 per website per month. If you know what you are doing you can look after up to 100 websites without outsourcing it to army of SEO guys

It really depends on the kind of services you're looking for

SEO task needs more time especially if the domain is newly register. You should find the right firm that will do various SEO techniques that will help you generate high traffic.

It will cost you around $700 for full time staff and $400 for part time staff who will do all the link buildings manually to Online Directories, Search Engines, Press Release Sites and Article Sites. The main advantage of manual submission is to increase the page rank in a short span of time which cannot be achieved with automated submissions.

I feel the SEO industry is so tough because there are so many questionable "experts" out there who aggressively market themselves and are all over the place. Personally, I would be very uneasy trying to figure out a proper payment structure for any of my SEO work, but this thread has provided a good start so far. I'll be curious to hear more.

The salary will always depend on the SEO Specialist's capacity and work loads.

For one site - as everyone else has stated it really depends on the project and what that person is doing.

Major SEO that includes national rankings for highly competitive keywords is going to run you a good chunk of change.

If you are doing local I would say depending on the city size anywhere from $50-200 is fair. You still have to take into account how hard it is going to be.

I am using link services that build links for me.

Services like Linkvana, Linxboss, and AlohaLink automate the process for you without having to pay someone.

However, you can easily hire someone for $200 per month to manage your SEO accounts on these websites and more using onlinejobs.ph

Hello Ben, depends on what you're planning to achieve. If you get leads directly from the search engines, then yes, then SEO will be crucial in the long run. Search around, prices range from $100 - $10000, but i like what Paul said: PAY FOR RESULTS.

Eg Number 1 for Keyword 1 xxx amount, Number 2 for keyword 1 xx amount etc etc.

Depending on their quality, if you like them and they are good, why not negotiate for a better long term price? That might be feasible, if it is pertinent for your funneling.

You can also consider buying links, like what traffictipsnow does. That works too.
