own autoresponder

Right now, AWeber, Getresponse and many others do not allow you to upload a purchased list of leads. I am considering buying my own autoresponder software and would like some recommendations.

It should be able to do all that the big autoresponder services do. Does anyone have any thoughts on this, please?

    Hi Marieleo, I realised your post goes way back into mar 2009, so i hope this still will help you. Most of the autoresponders wont allow purchased list to be uploaded as they want them all to be opt-in again, so if you want to do so, you can get freelancers to build and design your own autoresponder software to help you.

    Imnica Mail does not allow purchased lists either.

    We will though do a dedicated server for you, but, it is pretty expensive, AND, with purchased lists, it WILL lose deliverability in the long run.

    I use infinite responder and I love it. However, as Jeff Hope mentioned there is a lot of work involved in maintaining your own responder. I don't advise it unless you have a solid relationship with the list because a few spam complaints can get your entire hosting account shut down. Check out getresponse.com, I think they allow a list to be uploaded but they assume that you obtained the opt-in from another source.
