Google Places Listing Dropped Out of the Radar

Hey,

I hope someone can shed some light on this issue, as I'm not sure why my listing was dropped from Google's radar on Places. The keyword I'm trying to rank for is 'marketing ottawa'. I updated a few things for my listing to see if it would improve my rankings better on Places, but soon found out that it was no where to be found. Here are the fields I changed:

- business title: removed keywords and listed title as business is registered
- added a post
- changed categories to ones in Google's database (removed all the ones that I added in myself including those that had a geo term + keyword)
- changed up description a bit
- changes hours of operations

My listing was on page 14 at position H.

The next day, after I made the change, my listing moved up to Page 7 position D.

The following day, my listing is no where to be found (out of 20 pages).
Today, still no sign of my listing.

Has anyone run into this problem before? If so, how could i fix it?

Thanks in advance!

Jackson

This is probably due to your changes and Google needs to get you settled again into the position it deems correct. Kinda like a GP Dance thing.

Let the profile settle down for a few days and see if the climbs, falls, or remains the same.

    Just my 3 cents worth!

Look for your listing on the map itself. If is still there, it will eventually come back somewhere in the first 20 pages. If it's not, you're out of luck.

Thank you both for your replies. I will give it a few days to see if it shows up. My listing is still active and the analytics is still tracking my impressions/actions.

        Hey Jackson

The 2 areas where Google tells you that it will basically have to reindex/redo/recheck/re-messaroundwith - call it what you like are:-

        1) Change to phone number
        2) Change to Business title

Don't fret though it will come back.

It could take as much as a couple of weeks though.

        Regards

        Bronwyn and Keith
