Cheapest Way To Forward Calls

Hey guys. What is the cheapest way to forward calls to clients? I just called up TollFreeForwarding.com - The #1 provider of international toll-free and local phone numbers and its going to be expensive to do multiple numbers. I am trying to forward calls with Google Voices and everytime I call my GV number hoping my cell will ring but instead it is always asking me to "put my 4 digit code in". Any help would be great. Thanks guys

I'm using www.vumber.com. $10/mo for the first one, then $5 (I think) for each additional. Not cheap by any stretch.

I use RingCentral. You can set up extensions that forward to different numbers. I'm not sure what you're looking to pay. For me, this is a small price to pay considering how much I'm getting from clients.

GV usually only asks you to enter your 4 digit code if you call from one of the numbers that you have defined in the system. If you define your home number and cell number in GV and then call from one of those numbers GV assumes that you must want to check your messages.

Is that the case for you? Have you tried calling from different phones?

I use GV for forwarding all of the time. It works great and it's free :-)

eVoice Virtual Phone Numbers | Voicemail to Email | Toll Free (no aff link)

Evoice allows you to setup a professional "voiceover autoattendant" that will allow you to either forward/answer the call, or send them directly to voicemail.

You also get a 1800 number and 2 extensions for 12.95/mo, with the first 6 months FREE.

GVoice has a feature called "history". When you click on it, it will show you calls you made or received, their duration, phone numbers and charges, if applicable (international outbound calling).

If you use GVoice number to forward to your cell, it will still show phone numbers that called you and the call's duration.

I use google voice to forward calls to my cellphone. There is a feature where you can have your Gvoice number show up when you get a call instead of the number of who is calling. This let's me know I have a business call coming in and I answer the phone according. Very helpful. Plus there is a chrome plugin the syncs with google voice that tells you how many messages you have and one click gets you to all your voicemail transcripts.

If you need a local number for forwarding, I have found that, MagicJack.com is great. $39 to setup, and $20 a year after that.

It also forwards the correct dial tone, so callers can hit keys, such as, when given instructions to press #, etc.

I have used Tossable Digits Disposable, Temporary Virtual Phone Numbers | Private, Anonymous Telephone Services they have tracking for each number and you can get as many numbers as you need. Additional numbers are fairly cheap after the initial
number. They have additional minutes as low as .04 depending on usage and plan.

    Hi,

if you're looking for a more integrated service that will not only FWD calls but record them & tell you where they have come from, length of time and a whole host of other stuff then check out, mongoosemetrics.com

it goes a lot deeper, but if you want to manage the hole process then it's the sort of thing you are going to need to look at.

Don't know if they still do it but why not try Voipcheap | Free voip calls are one step away! (not an affiliate link)

After the first top up of around $10, the number is yours for free and you can call about 30 Countries for free within the first 90 days of your top-up. And the coolest thing is you redirect the call to a landline in a Country that is listed on there as free

PS: I was hoping someone here would recommend a tollfree forwarding service that is possibly "cheaper"..

I had skype unlimited for about 4 years and just recently switched because I had so many problems with clients getting a busy signal or a weird im outa the country message when trying to call me.

Also it would freeze up the skype program my mac when I tried to take a call on my computer and wouldnt allow me to answer it.

I now have been using the phone.com service for about 30 days and it is working great and the best deal I found to date. Real easy to set up and they actually have phone support with Americans living in southern cali! They are really cool and talked to them a few times.

They also give you $1 in credit for each referral you send them. So when I set up my clients I get $1 off each set up.

I want to save a few hours for any fellow Canadians...

I was going through and implementing Dr Dan's Google Love Method (Awesome implementable course by the way) and ran into this call forwarding problem as he mentioned phone.com which only has US and 1800 type #'s

THIS IS YOUR BEST SOLUTION FOR CALL FORWARDING w/ LOCAL CANADIAN #'s

    Use www.hostednumbers.com.

The "Hosted Local" Plan is $7.95/mo and includes:
    - CDN Local # ( Alberta, BC, Manitoba & Ontario)
    - 1000 forwarding minutes
    - Call Reporting
    - Call Forwarding
    - Google Analytics Integration ( Never got to use or implement this so i cant really say if this is useful or not)

Took me the whole afternoon calling evoice, vonage, eVoice etc to get to this provider.

    Enjoy

Try setting up OpenVBX and use Twilio. $1 per month for a number, and 1 cent per minute for calls. You can have the virtual number forward to as many numbers as you'd like. The one that picks up first is the one that takes the call. OpenVBX is much better than Google voice, since you can customize it any way you want.

How much would be for someone to setup an Twillio account,US number and forward it to my phone in Romania? What are the rates?

as for magicjack, we use it as our main number at home. sometimes they have deals where you can get it for around $11 a year if you buy for 5 years.

i've found that if the pc is busy, or has a lot of stuff running, the voice quality will go down.

as for using it abroad, i've known some folks to acquire one here in the u.s., and then take it overseas, and if a call is started from the foreign country into the u.s., it's like a domestic call. the phone number follows the magicjack usb plug in. and if it is acquired overseas, and a u.s. phone number is requested/assigned to it, it also behaves like a u.s. domestic call when the call is initiated from overseas, and when u.s. folks call that number, there is no international charges.

I run an U.S. online retail store. Although I live in Australia I needed a U.S. toll-free number and U.S. local area code number and fax.

I use RingCentral.com for all these numbers. I pay $55 per month for the toll-free and fax plus an additional $5 for the local area code number.

RingCentral is a very powerful service. Even though my customers ring a U.S. toll free number I answer the phone from my home in Australia. I can answer either on my pc or forward the call to my home phone. Also, when I call people in the U.S. (via the Call Controller sofware from RingCentral on my PC) they see my U.S. number.

RingCentral has tons of other features. You can record and upload greetings, take message which are then email to you as .wav files, you can block numbers, you can set up in/after business hours options, call loops, extensions and a whole lt of other cool things.

    Can't recommend the service enough.

Avoid Tollfreeforwarding.com they are border line SCAM. Just search the net for reviews, do not use them Im having major trouble they are unreasonable and provide no service. Their version of service is to provide you with a 1800 number and if it dont work its not their fault, avoid them at all costs.

I'm looking for a solution as well. I'd like to have a forwarding service that includes a local virtual number AND a toll free number. I've found a couple that will do this, but none have my California area code available. (530)

The BIG problem with Google Voice is there is a HUGE delay (several rings) before actually ringing on your phone AND there is a message "Please hold while the Google Voice subscriber is located" I know it's free, but these are deal killers for me and make for an unprofessional image I don't want to portray to my potential clients.

I'm not bashing Google Voice by any means. It's just not for me.

Ok for all of us that need a # for SEO / results tracking for clients, here are the criteria that might be more helpful for defining needs. Google voice wont work because there is that message that states "google voice" when someone dials your #. Anyone prospect or customer calling it will hear that- uh....kinda ghetto if you are a business.

My situation is overall, I have a client that says our SEO is not working. I know it is, we have front page placement and I have 2 competitors in the same industry that are very happy, same geotarget. I am 100% convinced that the real problem is it's the cranky, angry bitches that answer the phones (and hate me over that catty jealous female bul**** because I am young and beautiful and they are old, fat, washed up and mad at the world). I need something to prove them wrong so senior management will finally see the real picture and continue paying us for the real success we are bringing them. Here are my needs and I think I found the solution thanks to the Greg218 above-

Hostednumbers.com seems to do all of this and more and has the best rates. Ifbyphone wants to charge me 4 times what hostednumbers.com does! Screw them!

-No google voice message (this eliminates google voice)
-must forward to any # I choose
-Caller id tracking on my reports so I can show them who called. Ideally advanced tracking that will not just show what # called at what time, but assinged business name to that #
    -Recording of calls
-nice but not deal breakers are email or sms notifications once a successful call was placed, answered and recording made

Thats really it....not too complicated right?

I will give it a whirl and see how it pans out....
