what do you think of this method (for marketing offline businesses)?

hi,

i think it's BEST to create your own SEPARATE domain and promote that link (which redirects to your client's site)...

...i think this is better than promoting your client's exact URL because if your client stops paying you for marketing, then you can make that traffic redirect to another site...

i think a lot of work from IM gives traffic for long term...so a client can just say do work for me 3 months, and cut you off...then they will still get plenty of traffic without paying you...

a solution could be create your OWN domain name and redirect it to your client...if client wants to stop service, then stop giving them traffic...

this way...your client will keep paying for residually...

what do you think about this method?

thanks

    Hi BJ

It's a good way to protect the effort that you put in as not all clients "are good clients".

Plus it's a good idea to let them know that you can turn the tap on or off. Keeps them on their toes.

    Regards

I think it could be an option depending on the situation, but it also depends on what methods of traffic generation are being used and what services are being provided.

so right now, most of you guys just market your client's direct url correct?

then doesn't it tick you off when they hire you for several months and then say they don't need u?

yet they STILL get the benefits of all your hard work? they will get traffic forever...they will still have articles...content...video....etc...and you don't get anything for it...if i was in taht situation, i would be ticked off...lol

I think that's a great idea. It certainly protects us as consultants/marketers.

    Thanks for sharing that,

    I agree 100%.

If they want the traffic to go directly to their site the startup fee for the project goes up significantly.

The way we setup our affiliate sites is with access codes. This way it is impossible for the affiliate to be circumvented.
