Question: How do you get people to your seminars and webinars?

I'm trying tactics to get people to my seminars and webinars - what are the best tactics out there? There is the email list but where do you get the email lists? Does anyone have input on the subject of driving people to seminars and webinars? If email marketing; what lists do you buy, etc.?

    Buying lists? Ew.

If you're doing seminars for offline clients, stick with the tried and true postcard solution.

Write up some (very) short copy inviting the reader to a free seminar, have a designer do a design for it, and have a printing/mailing company ship it out the door.

You can get them printed for less than a dollar per card from some printers.

If you buy a list, get a mailing list and design some postcard. It should all only run a few hundred.

Design a website and post about what you do and offer.

Create a free e-book that will keep people wanting more.

Submit a sample webinar/seminar on youtube and other video sites.

I like using Facebook PPC ads as they're hyper-targeted to a specific niche. I also use LinkedIn PPC marketing to target my demographics as well.

I've been running my own seminars for almost 20 years now.

The very best way to get people into real-world, face-to-face local seminars is to do presentations at local professional meetings, networking groups and adult-education classes. People who like what you talked about and liked you will want to sign up for your mailing list (email or postal) and be receptive to your marketing of your own seminars.

      I agree with marciayudkin,

I've run several courses now through my local chambers of commerce. I simply phoned them one morning and offered to run a course for their members entitled "Google Secrets" which was a mashup of several tips and tricks, and made sure they brought their laptops with them.

I offered the course for free and limited it to 20 members at a time. The Chamber promoted it and organised the room, tea and coffee and I turned up with my presentation.

From that presentation I got to do business with 4 companies from that on a regular basis.

I look at it this way: How difficult would it be to schedule 20 meetings with 20 different companies, in a week? Very. What about if you got them to come and listen to you, see you as the expert and want to follow up with you afterwards? Works for me
