I have my first offline client. Her niche is so small that google does not track it. How can I find out what the search volume is?

In the spring I had bought a wso that had access to a local search site but that is gone now.

I've done a search on google 1st page and 2nd for another site.

Unfortunately with her site its a template and it is not optimized.

If I understand googles search tool the 2nd column local is for those of us in the US? And the first column is for world wide? Can someone let me know if my education on that is correct.

    Hey zenmack,

First if you're doing some search on the Google tool you will find the "Advanced options" tab below the "add your keywords" field.

If you're setting the GEO area to "U.S" (don't forget to set the language as well...), the "local" tab will be reflected as for "U.S" searches, and the "global", for the search volume worldwide.

If it's a really small niche, you can take one of your client competitor site and try to add it to the Google tool to see if you can grab some related keywords..

You can also use "Google Instant"- just start entering related keyword (or your main keyword) into the search box and see what google suggest.. usually i'm adding the order of A-Z after OR before the "seed" keyword of my clients niche (your main keyword)
