What is Offline Marketing all about?

Hey warriors,

I always hear about offline marketing but I just have questions about it and I hope you guys can help me answer it.

1)What's offline marketing all about?
2)How do we find offline clients? Newspapers ads?
3)What do we do in offline marketing?

Cheers and thanks!

    Hi YingHang

    Offline marketing isn't one thing.

Its a number of processes geared towards helping local businesses in most cases get an online presence that makes them more money through more sales, more customers or both.

The best thing to do would be to check out all of the "busiest" threads
in this sub-forum as most of what you ask has already been answerred in detail.

    Regards

well lets see, its not rocket science thats for sure.

finding products to sell (web designs, SEO, video marketing, email etc..)
finding customers to sell to...local business....look throught yellow pages for a whole list
    cold calling them, setting apointments
then when you have sold your services you go to elance or somewhere and get a freelancer to do the work for you for that service.

    simple as that.

In my opinion, in offline marketing, you make the billboard catchy and attractive, use offline link strategy...or some common ways that I have used in offline marketing are handing out at conferences and business meetings....
Offline ideas are much more variety.

    1. Generally speaking in this forum when we talk about "offline marketing" we're talking about selling your internet marketing services to local brick and mortar businesses.

    2. Businesses that may want to hire you are everywhere.

Often the best way to get started is:

    # Talk to the business owners you already know.

    # Talk to the owners of businesses where you're spending money.

    # Talk to the business owners you're friends and family know.

    # Ask everyone you talk to who they know (ask for referrals).

    # Go to business networking meetings and other groups and events where there are a high percentage of business owners.

    # Speak at business networking meetings and for other groups of business people.

    # Use direct mail to get in touch with business owners (at OfflineBiz.com gold members use a letter that gets around 20% of business owners you send it to to call you back).

    # Use the telephone in various ways to get in touch with business owners.

    # Walk into businesses and talk to business owners.

    # Email business owners.

    # And yes there are many other ways.

All these processes work a whole lot better if you focus heavily on asking questions of the business owner about him and his business and what he wants and needs.

    3. Put simply you help a business make more sales and profits.

You can use nearly any internet marketing skill to help a local business make more sales and profits...SEO, marketing with online video, email marketing, report writing, social networking etc etc.

It's quite likely you already have skills that could be of value.

It's just a matter of beginning to think through each business and how you might be able to use your skills to help them.

The reasons "offline marketing" has become so popular in the last couple of years are:

    # The market is HUGE and easily accessible.

    # You can get started without any kind of investment.

    # You can be making quite good money very quickly.

It's standard in the industry to charge 50% or more upfront before you begin a project and you can be charging hundreds or thousands of dollars for a single project.

So you might get paid $500 to $2,500+ upfront when before you start doing a new project.

For many people struggling to make $50 a week or less using various different internet marketing methods this is a very appealing way to use their existing skills to generate a serious income.

    Kindest regards,
    Andrew Cavanagh
