Hanging Out Flyers For Online Business

I am eager to win this contest that Global Domains International is offering all it's workers.

Today I sent one of my friends out with 40 1/2 sheet paper flyers to pass out OFFLINE to everybody he walked by.

I told him to ask them if they'd like to make extra money, and to check out our video at the website listed.

He hasn't came back yet, but I'm wondering, if he successfully passes out all 40, how effective is this small campaign going to work?

This campaign probably won't work well at all.
You need to advertise to a targeted market.
You also need way more than 40 fliers.

It's very doubtful that you'll even see one sign up. 40 flyers is just too small of a number, and with offline flyers it really is a numbers game. You'll have to consistently hand out hundreds to see any real results, in my opinion.

    Hi aduttonator,

This method of handing out flyers work pretty well. But, I'll tell you why yours is done in a non impactful way. 1st Off - you need purpose, you need focus & you need volume.

    1) Who are you targetting these flyers at?
    2) Is the flyer attractive enough for people to even look at it?
    3) Is there a logo, pic, image that will make them have a 2nd look?
    4) What is the 'Call To Action' line on your flyer?
    5) Are you giving any thing FREE? (seriously, if not no one will bother to take your flyer.)

Lastly, 40 flyers will not have any reach at all. I have a FREE Christmas Report which I'm giving out now to War Room Members. I'm sorry you are not a WR member yet. The report teaches giving out your flyers/catalogs & how to do it with an impact.

Try putting your flyers on cars...etc.

I will give you 1 tip: Go to fiverr.com & look out for people who will give out or paste flyers for you. Its only $5. here is 1 link among the many listed.

fortamat: I will put up flyers of your website all over campus for $5 at Fiverr.com

    Cheers!
    Shawn.

We usually hand out between 2,000 and 4,000 flyers a month, sometimes a lot more. They work for us but you need a lot of them. We have local businesses put their flyers in the bags too so we make money that way as well.

The flyers you hang up on bulletin boards etc. worked very well for us when we tested them but keeping track of them was a pain and there aren't a lot of places around here to put them.

I tried hanging flyers for Dish Network affiliate program.

I hung about 1,000 and didn't see a single sale. That took 5 days of walking around for 2 hours each day. I hung them in the nice neighborhoods.

The next week I gave up and decided to try knocking on doors instead. ( I have sold door to door before so this was not hard for me )

I got a sale within the first 20 doors I knocked on....

You guys were right, there were no signs ups. When I asked my friend how it went, he said that some people took the flyers, but they would just throw them on the ground. I guess this was not effective. My flyers were basic black print on white paper with bolded words, nothing fancy.

        Hi

Yeah handing out flyers needs to generally be in much larger numbers than just 40.

That being said - we had a "older lady" doing some for us and she managed to only get about 25 out before she became ill.

We still picked up enough to pay her and the cost of the whole flyer run of 5,000 so sometimes you are just plain "LUCKY".

Let us know how it went.

        Regards

        Bronwyn and Keith

Instead of flyers, we use colorful door hangers that attract attention. Also, you need to repeatedly go over the neighborhoods several times for maximum pull. Realtors refer to this as "farming" an area, where they will go to the same areas every six months or so. My sales reps for cellular/long distance service (and business opptortunity) will knock on doors and try to obtain the name, phone number and email address for further followup. Door hangers are left only when there is no answer at the door, then they will followup a few days later. Just as in online marketing, people will seldom respond to a one time flyer. But using a combination of offline and online marketing with followup in this way, it can be very effective. The money is in the list, and you can just as easily (actually a whole lot easier) build up your list offline.
