How Do You Check Rankings For a Client Remotely?

Many of my offline clients are not in my local area. While I can check rankings for geo-midified keywords, I'm not able to check rankings for non geo-modified keywords because of my ip...Google knows I'm not searching from the clients local area.

This seems like it's something that's probably super simple but I'm missing it. I'm guessing it has to do with using a proxy? How do I show rankings as they appear on my clients computer?

I'm using SEO PowerSuite and there is a place for proxy info. Can anyone shed some light?

Thanks in advance!

If you're trying to log into a computer remotely maybe teamviewer could help? Maybe I am misunderstanding you.

    • What I mean is, when my client does a search for carpet cleaning from his computer in San Diego, Ca., the Google results are completely different than my search in Phoenix, Az.

Without geo-modifying the keywords to check rankings, how can I check the rankings of hundreds of non-geo-mod keywords as if I was sitting at my clients computer or at least search from his local area?

This is something that has puzzled me for a while now.

    Use Scroogle.org's scrooglescraper.

  • Thanks for the input but I guess my question is not clear enough. I use software to track many keywords rankings for clients..in some cases hundreds. Most of my clients aren't in my local area but the software I'm using to check rankings is. That means a search for a non-geo-modified keyword will show different results on my computer here than my clients computer thousands of miles away.

I know about changing the location on the Google page but that doesn't change the results in my software results. What do you guys use to track rankings on keywords for clients? How do you track non-geo-mod keywords if you aren't in their local area?

I'm not able to find the answer to this question so I'm hoping someone here will know.

    Thanks!

Id ask the support team of your software what they recommend. I think most keyword software uses Google results for their information so changing the location should work for what you are needing. If not, mabey you can buy a proxy in your clients location that you can use to login and go online.
