Local Keywords (onpage seo work)

Hello guys!


I was talking to my programmer about keywords for a website that a client has me setting up for him. My programmer has told me that if I go over 8 keywords for the website, they will lose some of their 'power'. I was thinking that we will need to use about 10.

Although, I could split up some of the keywords to be used on inner pages, so that I could still market all the keywords I want to use.

It is a business that offers sales / service on atleast 7 manufacturers in the powersports business. SO that ends up being many short and longtailed keywords.

    I have clients provide me with 5 keywords, and guarantee them I can get rankings for at least 3. (I always get around 8-10.) But, by doing this, I always get a satisfied client when I over deliver. And never have an issue with under-delivering.
    It all depends on your SEO process.
    You could create articles for each keyword, or a video for each keyword.
    It's hard for me to tell you what else you could do, when I don't know what you're currently doing.
