Is there anybody out there who is currently making money from music. Perhaps reselling C.D.s on Amazon, Producing Beats, or just playing an Instrument during a downtown live show.

If so how much are you making, and what kind of strategies are you using to continue your process of earning?

I've been playing piano for 15 years. I became a member of the Warrior Forum to read up and see if I can make it marketable.

I currently play for 3 churches and make $1,200 a month from it. It's great money for only working two days out the week (Thursdays for practice, Sundays for churches)

That's stable income. I consider events (funerals, weddings, birthday parties, etc) bonus money because right now it isn't guaranteed.

Strategies? It's about who you know, and that becomes a matter of promoting your talents. How you do that is up to you. I make beats aswell, but I'm more of a novice in that aspect.

There's no "gimmick" if you want stable success in the music industry. You have to possess a unique talent or style among most of these computer musicians nowadays that can produce anything on the fly.

Edit: I might add that I am no way approving this as acceptable income for anyone. I am a college student with no real bills.

I agree that nowadays it's hard to get money from music. Because almost everyone knows what is the situation with piracy....

When you consider all the people above the artists that they have to pay, piracy probably costs them less money than anything else

Keep in mind that when people tell you that 'its hard to make money in music', it has ALWAYS been hard. Today, there are masses of people creating music, yet there is also greater means to get your music heard.

Its 'hard' to make money in any venture; dedication and had work will see you through.

Kinda depends on where you live. If you live in Myrtle Beach SC and can play guitar and sing a bit, well there is work all over the place in the summer. If you live in a big city a busking license can be profitable. Regardless of what you do or where if you have original music have CD's available. HAND OUT BUSINESS CARDS! have a website Do what it takes to get your music on ITunes.

Music is NO DIFFERENT than anything else Musician housepainter or Satellite TV installer, its all the same! Get out be seen hand out fliers!

      Hope that Helps!
