Multiple professionals at one address (Google Places)

A hair stylist I will be starting work for rents a booth at a salon. Since she is basically in competition with the other stylists at the salon, I want to create a listing for her only. The salon itself does not have a Google Places listing yet.

I don't want to claim the address of the salon and have Google potentially merge listings later if the salon tries to claim a listing. I have read that I can claim it as "address, suite XX" or something similar. Is this the best way to go about it? I'll be claiming the listing as "Stylist So-and-so," not as "Salon Name."

She does have a separate phone # and will have a separate website.

Technically google wants the business name, so if that stylist has their own business name then you would be "legit".

I would use the suite# thing, but create your listing on a couple other biz listing sites first (the bigger ones) so that when google verifies you on the backend they see that your "business" name is already out on the web.

Also get a different phone number to the one the salon uses or they will merge.

      Great advice from Icevapor.

Creating an online ID precedence is a great way of establishing credibility and claiming your local presence.
I'd make certain to use the inherent Google places tools to create profile references and also would definitely create a press release and within that be sure to note all the relevant dates of your business and website launch/relaunch and that really cements your precedence and individuality. Bookmark the press release and your site and also any articles (ezinearticles and other main directories) and that way you've got the whole web2.0 thing powering away for you,.. oh.. and don't forget the Youtube video channel tied back to your site and noted in your Google Places listing... an unstoppable formula!

      Cheers,
      Russ :-)
