Cold Calling Questions

Hey,

I've been doing quite a bit of cold calling lately and was wondering how you guys do your sales pitch? I have a couple of different methods I've been trying and have also seen a couple different trains of thought on this.

#1. I ask to speak to the owner or manager as soon as someone answers the phone. This has got me some mixxed results. People seem to be on edge right away when you do that and they also seem less friendly.

#2. Go into my sales pitch right away and if I get the owner from the start, I'm golden. If I do not they'll tell me I need to call back or to hold on. This has gotten me warmer results.

Thoughts?

Tiger claw, if you listen to the free audios I offered you... then you will "get it".

Not using proven techniques will reults in months on end of chasing your tail.

If you dont have my reports and you promise you will use them, I will give them to you free since you are making an effort.

    That will help/ Lemme know.

I will listen to them. I was just curious to hear about other offerliners experiences and what methods they're using.

I haven't listened to Johns stuff, but I always call knowing the owners name. Then you just call up and say "Billy Joe [owner] Please". You either get to the owner or don't (not there, busy, on the other line).

My buy/call percentage is really good because I have a simple pitch and I only talk to the owner.

Well I had a guy named TJ email me and say he made two sales this week... got another guy in my personal box saying he made two as well... just off the warrior forum threads...

The ones who are consistently successful are using an appointment setting script...

the ones who are trying to phone close are struggling... because you really need a "T.O" system if you want to close a credit card for over 5 or 600...unless you are a pro.

The ones who are closing credit cards in the $299 or less range are successful... usually that may require a fax/call back strategy.

"Hey Bob, I have this deal, can I send you a fax...? Okay great... whats a good time to call you back and see what you thought of it... I have a one oclock open this after noon or a two, which one of those would be best..."

Then call him while your fax is in his hand and go over the deals with him... you can close a credit card easily that way.

Overall I would say if you are a decent face to face person, take the appointment setting approach because the learning curve is shorter and you can make a grand or so within 48 hours.

    Have had plenty do it.

    Exactly.

Tiger Claw, if you are in the US I can generate a list of business owners with 5 employees or less, contact (owner) name, and over 1.5 annual income for you. That means less secretaries, or else the owner is usually within arms reach. What Area are you calling?

I can cutomize it to your desired niche too.. what niche are you calling?
