Google Places Question

I am wondering if anyone knows why the reviews for a doctor I know from citysearch aren't being pulled into the google places page he has. Is it because he didn't claim the page? Or I see that one page is a company name and the other is under his name. Is that why they don't see a consistency? The address and phone number are the same and I thought that would be enough for a citation. Thanks for any ideas. The name with the google places already is a keyword phrase (which is actual name of business) so I would like to keep that as the main name if possible (and of course his name is listed after the keyword phrase).

    Hi Debbie

Without actually seeing the listings and the reviews anyone would just be guessing.

If you want to give us a bit more info I'm sure that there are enough talented Google Places warriors around to help.

I'd rather not mention their specific info as this gets indexed in google and then it will show up when you search for his name and I don't want that to happen if he searches (or a new client) searches in google using his name. But, can the question be answered in general?

In order for citations from various sites (ie citysearch, superpages, yelp or local yahoo etc) to get pulled on the google places page, how much needs to be similar in terms of the listing information?

Also, I have another possible client who has not claimed their google places listing but it is listed with an email address that I know is their business e-mail. Can I help them by claiming it but be able to change the e-mail address so I can do the administrative part for them (as well as to enter the info on other local directory sites)? What do people do if there is already a page listed with one e-mail but you will be doing their listings for them so wish to use a different e-mail (that they will also have access too of course).

      Hi Debbie

The core business information is called a "citation" it needs to be the same right across the web as that is what Google uses to tie the info to the Google Places listing.

Google Places can be listed with one email and claimed with another as long as the customer gives it the go ahead it should be fine.

      Hope that helps

      regards
