2011 Video Idea for Potential Clients

Ok, I was thinking.

The way I had been doing business in 2010 was going to my 'lead' and showing him previous customers that have the video I created for them ranking very high in google local results. I would tell them that they could have the similiar effect with a video about their business or service.

but,

I was thinking maybe someone has tried this method out.

Produce a generic video related to the niche of the client you are going to speak to. ie. roofing contractor = roofing video. Then rank it high with some good local keywords and backlinks.

Go, to the lead and show him what you have created already and tell him that the video he sees at #3 position in local google could be his for ($$$). Maybe that is a more powerful 'call to action' for him.?? He sees his competition there and the future video of his ranking above or right below the 'places group'.

The only problem is, once I create his video , I have to start all over with Youtube and backlinks. Maybe a waste of money? What do you think?

Well if you use Vimeo I know you can change the end screen at anytime and add captions and stuff.

So do a generic video then add on later that companies info using the tools they give.

  • Ok, I have been pushing the idea of my clients buying 'HD' videos from me. Once you edit the ending the video is not HD anymore. Atleast not from me, I do not have the software to edit Hd video and then resave it as HD quality.

I was referring to Vimeo you can add a page on the end with text, links, ect.

Also text that overlays the video can be added on after.

  • Thanks guys for your answers. I could get a cheaper video made from my outsource for like $15. Then I could tell them that their video will be HD quality with voiceover. Still the 'proof' that I can make this happen by showing them the video that is already positioned at the top of local google results.

    Tommy,

Interesting ideas both the old one and your proposal.

You've actually got the answer to your question inside your question (although it may not be obvious).

In answer to your question, I think that it'll pay off if you know that what you've got to offer solves an identified problem that your leads has. That way you increase your chances of getting to a 'Yes' and won't waste money.

I offer video marketing however, only offer it to those I already know are interested in it in the first place as a potential solution.

This is done through pre-qualification before a meeting either over the phone, in person or via email and has not failed to date.

No need to loose the work you did on the prospecting video by starting over. Just include a link in the description area of the site that goes to their website. If the video ranks and gets seen, why remove it to start over.

Putting a link to the clients site in the description will still allow them to get leads from that video as well as any other videos they purchase from you that are custom made for them.

Another option is to buy a phone number from CallFire to track the calls the ad gets. Then you can tell them X number of prospects have called the number listed in the description already. If you can collect contact information for the leads and tell them you already have that information for x number of leads, even more immediate value to the client.

Then just redirect your tracking number to their business line.

Something I forgot to mention earlier was a tactic I am implementing. I recently registered a website for my chosen niche with the city modifier in it. The site is nothing more than a landing page with an email capture form on it. The prospect enters their name, email, and mobile phone number in exchange for a free report, although you could do a free video or video series answering some questions.

I am placing the address to that site in my video descriptions and starting SEO to push it to page 1. Then I will contact several business owners in that niche about getting the leads I am generating with that site.

So now you own the real estate, and sell them the leads. You could then do the same for their site with videos, and then you have your site and theirs on the first page.

this idea sounds intriguing what i understand is from the above is ..

you make a generic video (to target a local service) and upload to youtube - this video can't be reedited of course because you'll lose it's rank as it would be a new upload,

but when it's ranking in googles video search results (on the general search) you can lease the video to a relevant company, you basically just put their url in the description to gain them traffic.

    think that's what is meant?
