Website Pricing Question???

I just got off the "horn" with an interested jeweler. She says her site is crappy. I looked at it and it wasn't all that bad. The jeweler knows exactly what she wants. She wants a site almost identical to:

www.singlestone.com

I now have all of her contact info. She wants me to get back with a price plus a monthly maintenance fee.

What do you suggest?

What did she pay for the current site? If you're charging $2500 - $4k it better deliver above and beyond what she's currently got.

Personally, if you can OVERDELIVER and underprice what she paid before...and make up for it on the monthly maintenance, you've got a lifetime customer...and probably tons of referrals.

I agree with what has been said so far....

You can create a custom theme with rotating images and so on and so forth.

Or you can have it done.... either way.

Then I would do between $2,750 and $3,250 only becuase of the images necessary....

But I would explain to her the lack of marketing skills that went into that site design.

Quite honestly... words sell, pictures tell.... While that particular layout is pleasing to the eyes... it is obviously designed by someone with NO marketing skills whatsoever. There is not enough content to make the reader want to come in to the store right away.

The content that is there doesn't play on the readers emotions. Nor does it really speak to the reader.

There is no effective tagline or reason to keep reading....

There are no features and benefits of why they should choose XXXX jewelers....

There is no customer satisfaction guarantee.... no reason to only do business with XXXX jewelers.....

There are no calls to action... "We invite you to visit our store today!"

There is no reason to create urgency... "Come in today and enjoy FREE Godiva chocolates on us as you browse our new product line." (limited time offer)

Using the Chocolates as a free gift could be a good way to track that the website is bringing in business...... if someone walks in and asks for the Free Godivas.... or the Pamper Pacage they would have to have come from the website because that is the only place it was offered....

I would do the overall look and feel.... but completely different....

With proven marketing principles that work.... explaining this to the customer gives them a reason to only use you. That way if they price shop you. You have given them a USP that they won't get from a Billboard Designer.

Your service is unique and the cost is justified because you use proven marketing principles that work.

    You got this Chris....

That's probably the WORST landing page that I've ever seen, it SUCKS!
It says NOTHING, means NOTHING, doesn't ENGAGE, ENTICE, COMPEL.
    Doesn't CAPTURE email.
    No CALL to action.
    No Contact information visible.
Destroy this garbage NOW! is my cta.
