Making my first calls today, 2 questions

Hello Warriors,

Been reading all the offline posts for the last several weeks, also
bought a few WSO for offline marketing.

Started making my calls today at 2:00

So far, I got 8 no's
1 I'll run it past my boss, call back tomorrow
1 send me some information

Not bad for 10 calls.

My questions are:

If a potential client says that they are not interested right now, should
I send them some information.

Which leads to question 2

What kind of information should I send.

I ordered business cards today and have a site being made for me
which should be ready in a few days.

Should I just send some pricing info?

I am so excited that my little fingers can barely type this post out.

Once you get past the first couple of no's, it kinda get's easier to make
calls. I figure every no brings me closer to a yes.

Thanks for the help.

Your right in that you develop a tough skin with experience.

One tip which has helped me is in the semantics of how you phrase your discussion.

    For example;

Instead of asking "IS there a good time to come see you" rather say "WHEN is a good time to come see you"

    or

Instead of asking "CAN I call you again to see if you are interested" rather say "Once you've had time to look at my information I"LL call you back to answer your questions"

People call this different things but what you want to do set the direction of the sale rather than your potential client setting the direction. I hope this makes sense.

It's a little thing but directional dialogue is pretty powerful stuff.

Love your energy. keep it up.

This is exactly right, in my experience. My husband worked on the phones a little while back and I was his "practice" for a while.

You've got to stay in charge of the conversation. Get them excited and try to avoid ever asking any questions that can be answered with just a "yes" or "no" unless they're obvious questions to get them into a "yes, yes, yes, yes..." pattern.

Believe in yourself! You're already doing so well just by getting out there, and your enthusiasm is awesome! Best of luck

My question to you would be:
What irresistible value are you offering to provide them in your message?

Without knowing exactly what you are saying, you could be shooting yourself in the foot when instead you could be generating 8 yes responses.

The difference between a good marketing message, and a bad one, is the difference between someone who is successful at scheduling meetings...and one that ends up buying countless WSOs because they arent getting results.

    Just a thought.

This is so true. Very important from my experience. I have a friend who is a manager of a jean store and a great salesperson. At times I'll hang out in the store just for fun and listen to him sell jeans almost at will to customers who are "just browsing", then upsell them two shirts and a belt All because he takes complete charge of the conversation in a non-pushy way.
