How to solve this offline email problem

I have to setup a client's business email account instead of them using companyname@gmail.com. I suggested google apps but they want to use ms outlook instead.
The Problem:
They also want to be able to modify user accounts since they are a growing company and do not want to come to me every time an employee joins or leaves.

Is it possible to give them a separate cpanel login at my hosting company so that they can make these changes since I have a basic account with my domains and this client's domain on the account. What should I do to solve this problem ?

    Ask your hosting provider...

    This is not quite the solution you are looking for but it might be the next best thing.

    1) Set up a email account (newemail@yourdomain.com) for them to email you when a new address is needed.

    2) Add the new accounts in their cpanel as they come in. This should take less than a minute.

    3) Create detailed, step by step, instructions on how to add the new email account on their end. Put this in the signature of your "newemail@yourdomain.com" account.

    4) Reply to their email when the new account has been created in the cpanel.

    Charge whatever you want (maybe $30/month) or do it for free and have that business recommend you to everyone they know.

    You really should get a reseller account to avoid these issues in the future.

      Uhhh... they can still use outlook with google apps. Every client I have uses google apps with outlook. Just enable imap or pop Supported IMAP client list - Gmail Help

      They can do up to 50 emails for free.

        I strongly suggest you move to a reseller setup so you can give unique hosting accounts to every client. I make the huge mistake of running clients sites and lists through my own accounts early on. It became a nightmare as I grew the business.

        Important features:

        * cpanel
        * unique name services, ie NS1.your domain
        * tools to automate everything

        Host Gator has a reseller package: Reseller Hosting Plans - Web Hosting Packages with cPanel and WHM

        Clarification: I don't use or promote Host Gator, I have a dedicated server.

        Helpful?

    Why can't they use Outlook wit Google Apps? That way they would be able to administer changes on their own through the Google apps interface.

    Coach,
    I agree with you on this one as I went through the same problems... But let's face facts none of us think of these issues when we 1st start out...

    Best solution Giggle, is to open the resellers account now and transfer over the growing companies & the small businesses that will stay as they are, leave as they are, that way you only have to do what's needed, and will save yourself a bucket load of time and headaches...

    Upgrade to WHM control panel then you can give them their own cpanel

    I would still push for Google Apps. I have had a lot of experience and have never experienced better spam filtering than that provided by Google. It simply works and you still have the control.

      The reseller mail hosting is ok, but the spam filter is crap, and if they switch hosts (even if they still use you for development and marketing) its going to be a pain in your but.

      Google apps can switch as many hosts as you want and it wont effect their business communication. Not only that, but I like to charge extra for it because its better. Just through out how much better the spam filter is and they will jump on board so fast... its crazy.
