Does video rank in the new google local SERPS?

Hey Guys!

I am glad that I found this forum! I'm from Germany and currently trying to start a internet marketing business!

I am quite interested in video marketing like the Main Street Marketing course from Mike Koenigs.

Basically you get video rank in the local SERPS and drive the traffic from the videos to a local lead generation site.

But my question is: Is it still possible to rank with video in google local search, since they changed their results???? Does anybody have examples for me?

    Yes they can still rank. I put up a brand new places listing last week for a client and created 5 videos for the listing, for one of her search terms two of the videos show up first page position 3.
    (Her main website is position 1 & 2 but places listing nowhere yet )

      yep its possible, if you are using youtube to upload videos . follow the youtube video optimization guide. Google for "Youtube video optimization"
      So you say, that I should rather optimize for youtube to rank in google??
      => That means get comments, views and thumb ups!

      A lot of people say that Link Building is more effective. What do you think?

      Or is the best way to really show google that there ARE videos and upload a few (4-6) of them so that google can show them in the SERPS.

      Any more opinions on the subject??

    another solution could be upload videos in your own site and submit video sitemap via Google webmaster center .
