Link building services for offline consultants?

I am getting into offline consultanting. And as part of my packages, I want to offer backlink building.

But here is my question/concern: Now that I will be building links as a service, I obviously cant run the risk of building them links which may get their site de-indexed/banned. What type of link building services do fellow consultants suggest to safely build links to my clients sites? Of these, can I safely do them monthly?

For the record, I have used several link building serveral from the WF hire section and been happy. But I have not used them monthly nor on a large scale.

Thanks
GabeW

I suggest looking through the WF for others that offer the link building service. You someone that you have tried yourself. Ask them how much work they can handle and what the turnaround time is. Then just add your markup to the service.

I guess I should be asking, what are the more safe types of link services to use?
      -Link wheel?
      -Social bookmarks?
      -Article submission?
      -etc

      And the less safe type?

Part of what got me thinking more about this was a blog post by SEOMoz about "32 SEO Tactics to Avoid" and they said this:
      Link Network Schemes
      Do not sign up for...
      13. Link Schemes
      14. Reciprocal Linking
      15. Link Farms
      16. Link Wheel
      17. Link Exchange (unless it is a real and substantial business partnership or relationship)
      18. Three Way Linking (or Two-way, Four-way or any other way)

What caught my attention was the Link Wheel one. Several of the services in the WF hire section are web2.0 link wheels that I thought were reputable ways to build links.

I am NOT asking for any specific person or recommendations.

Here's a simple rule of thumb: If a Google employee was standing behind you, watching you build the backlinks, would you be concerned.

If you would be...then your probably not doing the right thing.

Stick with legit stuff like article marketing, link directories, Web 2.0 properties etc. (all of which can be legit-automated)...avoid the 10,000+ link forum/blog spam links since I'm pretty sure nothing of that seems "legit" in the eyes of Google.

Yes, I have only used things I thought were legit and could be replicated by myself with uber amounts of time...so will stick with what I have thought was legit the whole time...

      Hi Dexx,

Can you go into a lil more detail and explain how these can be legitimately automated.

      Thanks in advance

Def stick with the WF. Everyone on here is great and I'm sure you can work out a monthly deal with someone. Don't be afraid to ask, worse thing that can happen is they say no. There is ALWAYS more people building backlinks
