I've searched the WF forums but haven't seen anything about how webinars are currently being made using the software that lets words appear just as they are being spoken. What is it called? Where can it be gotten? Are there any downsides to this software?

Thanks
AJ

I'm not totally sure about the one you are describing, but I use Camtasia for managing/editing my webinar recordings.

Thank you all for the effort.

This software has been around for about six months and is being used by many webinar presenters. A single word or a single line with 5 or 6 words appear and the voice speaks the words in sync. This method forces the listener to read the words and therefore the message has been heard as well as read. This technique focuses the listener on your message.

I'm seeking the name of a software product or the generic name of a feature in a video hosting service, like GoToWebinar.

I use GoToWebinar and I have not really looked to see if it has that feature, or if such a feature is possible in a live webinar.

I know there is software where you can just say what you want to write and it types it out for you but you have to train it to recognize your speech patterns. Speech to text could be rather chancey, specially if the software has not been well trained.

If speech to text is possible in a live webinar, what about if you have a guest for whom the speech to text engine has not been trained? The result could be not to your liking as the text being displayed may not really match what was said.

Dragon Natural Speaking is a speech to text, although the latest Windows software will also allow speech to text.

I always use gotomeeting as well. It does exactly what you are describing, and a lot more. The automated follow-up/reminder feature to all registered participants helps to minimize no shows.
