Something I should already know , Redirects?

Ok, I am just needing some advice and to clear up the doubts in my head.

I registered a bunch of other domains for some of my clients. I registered the 'city+keyword/s' as domain names. I want to do a redirect to their main website. How do they work exactly as far as having the 'exact' keyword + city in them? How does Google see that? They do not see the actual url name? I know it would be powerful to have the exact keywords in the url, domain name.

Can someone explain how I can use this to an advantage for some of my clients? The 'redirected' domain name really doesnt show up in the google search results page does it?????

You are correct. If you buy these domains and simply redirect them, they will not be indexed or show up in the SERPs. You need to build them out with some content, so they rank. Then on those pages, have links/banners etc that funnel the user to your main site.

100% keyword domains work well in local markets and rank very quickly with some proper backlinks. Great strategy for creating feeder sites to your main site.

  • maybe just build a landing page, with some content on it, but when the link is clicked upon, it automatically redirects to the main site. Maybe the customer will not even be able to read the LP, it is just content that google indexes and puts in the description area under the heading of the listing on the page of search results of google. I am sure that I have seen this before.

    thanks, any more comments??????????

      Content is still King...

As stated above, local keyword sites typically rank easily.

      I strongly suggest:
      1. create a simple site with some content
      2. make the content valuable to the prospect
Do this and google will reward you.

      Regards,

      John
