Selling SEO product over phone/email

I have a revolutionary SEO product for businesses and I'm anxious to sell it but scared about talking to businesses. I'm not much of a talker and the idea of walking cold into a local business to sell or cold calling is not my thing.

I have seen quite a few guides on emailing prospects and closing deals via email and if needed talking to business owners solely on the phone instead of meeting face 2 face.

What are your thoughts on this approach in terms for selling SEO?

I, also have a revolutionary product for small business SEO! Don't we all? I suggest using something else to get in the door, like a free video to post on Youtube or something to that nature. Just don't fall into the 10-20 people a day that contact business owners about "putting them on the front page of Google"!

Yes.. don't we all... It is not actually MY product but an SEO product I'm going to sell for an SEO firm I work with. My concern is emails get ignored although sales calls are ignored nowdays too.

You could alway try the tried and true door-to-door! Really. It has worked for me. I walk in with shorts, t-shirt, and a ballcap! Just tell whoever that you are a filmmaker and your giving away an absolutely free video to showcase their business online. Use the, "I'm not trying to sell anything, really." approach. I take my ipad and show them a video I've done (everyone wants to see the ipad in action!). Then I tell them I'm just going to give you a free video like this and put it on Youtube, if that's okay. 9 out of 10! Then I get follow up info and when I put it on Youtube, I put a citation. Then I call 'em...I'm the video guy, and "get their final approval". I'll show them the citation and tell them they could use it for their Google Place page...then hit 'em with the ole, "oh, you're not really coming up in Google much..." "What keywords do you try to rank for?" How's that working for you? Get them to talking and if they start asking questions...Hey, hey, hey it's the Fat Albert Show!
