Micro blogging portal twitter takeover

Some of the first few words on the lips of every SEO / SEM professional include Facebook, Google and Twitter. Google is talked about by each and every person today, and Facebook has literally become the God of social networking with more than 700+ million active and growing users. Twitter is also the most popular micro blogging portal, with close to 75 million users. Together, Facebook and Twitter bring about a combination, which is demanded by every individual, professional or corporate looking to score in Google result pages and get a lot of word of mouth publicity, through social networks.

Twitter is touted to be taken over by Google or by Facebook. Well, both of them are in low-level talks anyways, and the price in discussion ranges from $8billion to $10 billion.

    Facebook because they are social network giants and twitter is all about social. Google doesn't know jack CRAP about being social and they should stick with what they do best, search.

      Agree with Rus, Google really didn't hit home with what they've been trying so far in the social space. Sad to see though that Twitter is going to be absorbed by either of those companies. Companies becoming bigger and stronger every day...

        Yes, companies are getting bigger and so as there values and just because of this reason we are getting such news in the market.

    I would hate to see twitter taken over by facebook . . . I don't agree with everything zuck does - he's brilliant, but we don't see eye to eye on some things . . . He runs his business the way he sees fit, and I'd hate to see him making the decisions for another 'social' group.

      I'm with you there Trace FB must and should not usurp Twitter or even Google for that matter. Monopolies are not really good business models as far as I'm concerned. Standards decline once companies get too big.

      Twitter is something that is best for getting traffic and even business but as far as SEO concerns than FB is something that will be use by many people for the purpose of SEO and they are even getting benefit of doing.

    Facebook provides the exact service as twitter, and Google could very well come up with a social networking service of their own. It looks to me like there's a monopoly brewing among the three or someone's got a serious case of anti-trust issues.
