Any success with "Local Video Method" or similar methods?

Just checking here to see if anyone has had success with "Local Video Method" or similar methods where you send a free site review (video) to businesses that you've identified as potential prospects? I have just begun, sent 6 videos in the last few days, nothing yet. Just curious to see if anyone has tried it? If so, did you get any results?

Thank you,
Tracy

    Yep, it works great!

You can get out 10 videos a day to specific websites you reviewed or you can also do 1 video and send it out to a bunch of websites.

    Think about that!

For instance, make a video proposal to all the doctors in Miami and say the first one that gets back to me gets my offer.

      Ryan,

what a great tip. It took some doing, as I was telling Tracy. I go my first client and it is a Dr. I happy, it did take 'work' to get it into play, but never the less, it pays off in the long run.

I was starting to get that feeling Jim, about seeing what sticks. But I have a full-time job, and can really on work this on nights and weekends, so I'm pretty limited. I like Ryan Shaw's idea about making one video and sending it to all ____ businesses in a certain city. Ryan, can you elaborate a little more on this? I really would appreciate it.

And that's great news Jackie. I can't wait to get my first client!! Although I'll probably panic when I do LOL!

        Thanks a bunch!!

I haven't had much success doing videos as a prospecting method to be honest.. I find it cumbersome and time consuming to "audit" a prospects site without even gauging whether they're interested or not first..

I've found it considerably better to solicit their interest in a "free audit" and then do them for the people that respond to help secure a deal.

Order of operations applies to more than just math

Yeah, I really would not waste my time creating completely unique video reviews for businesses if I have not qualified them in some way. Asking them if they would like a free video review is truly a great door-opener in itself, and this way, you at least have some motivation to crank the videos out day after day.

If you are going with the "throw everything at them and see what sticks" route, and you have no real way to get your message in front of them, then just do one video as Ryan mentioned above and send it out to all your prospects. Really though, this isn't the best approach as your whole purpose in doing the video is to get them to communicate with you and open a dialog, and if they aren't communicating with you BEFORE you do the free video, there is a good chance they won't be communicating with you AFTER you produce the free video.

My advice, use the idea of the free video review as your "foot in the door" or "lead in" approach. If nothing else, you should be able to get a few local business owners curious about what you can do for them/how you can help them grow their business.

    Good luck with it!

    - Jim

    Hi,
I considered buying this training a couple of months ago... I believe it was $97 then ...
But looks like it's $297 now... that's why I'm very curious too about how this is working out for others... I'll have to be very sure this process actually works before I lay out nearly $300.

Has anyone else also tried "Local Video Method"?

Just saw this on a webinar last night and it looked interesting enough to consider.

I asked the same question about unqualified prospects.
Didn't get a real good answer.
Don't think it was evaded, just not answered.
Said that it may take 30 minutes to create a vid.

It does eliminate knocking on doors or cold calling

I found the videos were taking too long to create, and I'm already familiar with using Camtasia.

I do run a web site analysis, but it's mostly automated. Typically the analysis is offered after speaking with a decision maker.

I also confirm they are spending money on marketing already (PPC, print, radio, TV) before offering the web analysis.

Here's a free online tool that can generate a website analysis for you:

Why not take that $300 and spend it on promoting your services.
      • Have you already done your initial press release push? If not, you should give it some thought.
      • Business cards and a Virtual Business Card - Virtual business cards can be created using SMS. When business owners dial your "short code" from their mobile device, they get your business and service data sent to them. Kind of like an autoresponder.
      • Develop a website. Get it ranked for "marketing" + "your local city" or "town". A professional marketing consulting site that gets visitor traffic will be one of your most powerful tools. Developing this type site should be a requirement for all offline marketers. If you can't get your own website functional and ranking, how are you going to do the same for your clients?
      • Speed Business Networking events - This is one of the best methods for doing warm-calls. Business owners who attend these events are seeking new clients. Guess what? You are in the business of generating new leads and clients.
      • Contact your cable network and inquire about rates.
      • Postcards mailings that pique the business owners interest.

You also want to remember what it is you are really selling. It's not website development and marketing services. You are really selling "increased profits" and "larger customer and client bases".

      Hope that helps a little...

Everyone here has some great suggestions. I personally used to use a free video to get my foot in the door or to get a testimonial. But I could crank them out in less than 10 minutes using animoto.

But I first go into or call the business owner and mention I am offering a complimentary video creation service to only a few local businesses as a way to introduce my services. Do you like free stuff? lol..

This worked really well to get new clients and testimonials from those that didnt buy additional services but were super juiced I made them a free video.

I haven't used that version but I did buy Costas Peppas WSO
This FREE Method Made Me $14,203.79 This Year -Offline Silver Bullet!

It does involve video but it's more pre qualified clients and it works.(Sick conversion rate) I sent out 3 emails got 2 clients. This guy was the first to respond. See his response below.

"Thank you for taking the time to create that video for me. You are the first person I have responded to as I have recently received over 50 different emails. Feel free to call or email. I think you have a good idea of what I need."

It took me about 8 minutes or less to create using free tools following the crazy simple information revealed in the WSO above. No it's not my wso and no affiliate link. Just really valuable information that works.

Thanks Timothy - for the reminder about Costas Peppas program. I got his great WSO and looked at it and then forgot about it.

What I like is his simplicity and passionate way of teaching it.

    Cheers!

I think videos are a great strategy. I just made a simple WSO like Costas' and then created an entire video tutorial around it. This stuff is great fun especially when it lands the clients!!

The website grader tool is awesome.

It always seems to give a website a bad score which can make you look like a hero when you come in and redo it.

How many did you approach before getting the doctor? And what was your approach/where did you get the info if you don't mind sharing.

Where did you mine prospects from?

  • I have found that I have had a lot more success with video by offering to make a 30 sec commercial for a business for nothing and getting it ranked on page 1. It takes about the same time as doing the analysis on a website but gives a lot more value to the potential client.

Once you have proved that you can do what you say it is much easier to get a meeting and close the client.
