Google search results have thumbnails other than YouTube?

If I Google "wedding venues houston", on about page three of the organic results
are two YouTube thumbnails. As expected, one takes you straight to a video on YouTube, the other takes you to the advertiser's website (thebigwhiteboat.com) bypassing YouTube. How do they do that?

Yes, I see it - thebigwhiteboat.com or something.
Yep, looks like a video, but takes you straight to their site.
I could think of a few useful ideas... I would actually LIKE having someone go straight to my site to view a video than to YouTube -- tooooooooooo many distractions on YouTube.
I usually have videos rank pretty quick in my little town. Having a "video" thumbnail rank #1 beats the work required to get an actual site listed at #1.
Again, IF it works like that.

    Hi guys

This is a great strategy, and involves using a video-site-map. Have a search around
on the internet for more info, Mark Dulisse makes a premium wordpress plugin, but I believe there are some html versions and a free wordpress plugin.

Far better to have visitors go directly to website than go to youtube and get distracted by other videos, as Drakuul points out.

I am not sure if it is as easy to rank a video on a website as a youtube video. But as youtube normally displays two videos, could try ranking the youtube video and hope that your website video gets pulled up through the rankings with it.

For one keyword I have a DailyMotion video ranking beside Youtube and been using a technique shared in War Room to grab some other top spots.

But I didn't used video site maps YET.

I have been ranking videos on dailymotion as well.

The video site map allows you to get a thumbnail picture in the SERPS, which sends visitors to website instead of video sharing website.

Google has been adding greater value to YouTube videos and video in general ever since the bought YouTube. Good keyword related videos are hot. Even general comedy and general entertainment videos can be used to drive untargeted but motivated visitors.

I performed a search on "wedding venues houston" and see two video thumbnails on page one of the results. If a Houston Wedding business created a video showing the five best "wedding venues" in the city, they would do very well in the SERPs. Get busy if you have a wedding business client that you consult.

Most video sharing sites rank well in the serps but if you want to rank a video from your site you need a video sitemap.

You can include an image so that it shows in the video group next to the Youtube videos.

I've also noticed that some results on Google (local listings) and Youtube video descriptions have clickable phone numbers if you are on certain devices (Dell laptop & friend's Blackberry... hopefully that goes along with the subject matter of this thread!) Is it possible to "html" phone numbers into listings so that they show up as clickable, intentionally?

This is actually a great demonstration of why Internet Marketers should start video-casting (vlogging) on their own domain, rather than relying exclusively on video sharing portals (ie. YouTube, et al.).

Vlog videos tend to rank as well as YouTube videos, as it is suspected that Google favors both vlogs and blogs. The advantage with a vlog video, is that you own the video page.

As you saw with the "thebigwhiteboat.com" example, you can steer targeted traffic directly to your website via your videos. Thus, it makes sense to add a "vlog" to your website.
