Geo Sitemap for Wordpress, is there a plugin?

Geo Sitemaps, I found a kml file generator, but those seem to be for html websites.

I did a search within Wordpress plug in search and found a bunch of interesting plugins but none seem to generate the KML file,

If I manually create and upload a KML file, Wordpress (wp on the tld), will just return a 404

is there a decent plug in that will generate a geo sitemap/ or kml file?

thanks

What does a KML sitemap do, if I may ask? I'm new to internet marketing, WordPress blogging, and Google sitemap stuff. Just learning the ropes and trying to read as much as I can around the Warrior Forum, so that I can get some clear general knowledge of how things work and how ppl speak about things related to Google rankings, blogging, marketing stuff online, YouTube video marketing and so forth. Anything helpful will be greatly appreciated =)

As I understand it, it's a Google Earth geo sitemap
it's not an html file (standard website code)
it's not a xml file (not too sure exactly, but xml is more like a blog and less like standard html, it's a different programming language, perhaps like javascript.
What I do know is sitemaps are done in xml file format

Kml is a Google earth geo tagging, similar to GPS

I'm kinda fuzzy on the precise description/ nomenclature, but I know I want one, found a way to create one for a conventional website (who uses those anymore???) , don't know how to create one that works in Wordpress

So it's like a sitemap form of geotagging?

I have the same question as John. A site map for geotagging? What do you use this map for?

A "GEO Sitemap" is an excellent way to show search engines where your local business is. Because you are creating a "GEO XML Sitemap" and submitting it directly to Google and showing Google where your "KML Sitemap" is located, your showing Google where your local business can be found.

I do a lot of local marketing and this is a powerful tool to dominate Google Local. It's not the #1 ranking factor, but it helps big time!

Here is one of my "GEO Sitemaps"
    nineeye.com/geositemap.xml

    and this leads Google to:
    nineeye.com/geo-sitemap.kml

Hope this helps. By the way don't forget to submit your "GEO Sitemap" to Google webmaster tools.

Yes, there is a WP plugin for those. I got a copy as a WSO (wasn't a free plugin, but it was cheap). It's called Geo Press by Darren Jackson.

You can also check out the wp supremacy plugin. Makes it quite easy to do what you are looking to do.

I like Supremecy, but found that the displayed widgets were not so pretty on my site. I do like the functionality, but maybe it's just me being too critical.

          Jeff,
I have the same issue with the Supremacy plugin. It does not look pretty with my sidebar.

Won't the Wordpress Maps V3 plugin work for this when you have installed the Google sitemap xml plugin?
