Is their a "best" malware remover?

Don't know if this is the right forum but here goes.
When I go into the search box of windows 7 whether it's Google, Bing or Yahoo I land on the requested "sites" but more than I care to mention the required links land on totally irrelevant sites - not every time but most. I've been told by the windows forum it's most likely malware.
There are so many malware removers - any recommendations?

    #1. MalwareBytes AntiMalware.
Get the FREE version ( Malwarebytes )
    Do a scan.

Pros: It does a PHENOMENAL job at removing spyware that most of the other programs miss on.
It may be all you need. A++ Highly Recommended

Cons: it is a little bit slow.

    #2. SpyBot Search and Destroy
Get the Free Version Here ( The home of Spybot-S&D! )

AntiVir - Awesome Free Anti-virus/spyware protection. It's great for active protection.. but the scanner does tend to miss alot of spyware.

    PAID programs that are amazing:

Lavasoft Ad-Aware - Ad-Aware by Lavasoft - Antivirus software, free spyware removal, firewall
Webroot Spy Sweeper - Antivirus Software, Antispyware & Internet Security | Webroot
SpyWare Doctor - Spyware Doctor | Spyware Removal Scan & Antispyware Software Download

Download MalwareBytes and Spybot Search and Destroy. Those 2 alone should get rid of your problem. If not, try one of the others too.

Norton Anti-virus seems to do good for those who use their service. But, of course, it's not free! lol

SUPERAntiSpyware.com | Remove Malware | Remove Spyware - AntiMalware, AntiSpyware, AntiAdware!

      Regards,

You should always use more than one antivirus/malware removal software to be sure you've removed all infections, as some softwares will catch infections that other ones miss. I usually use Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware (as mentioned above, they have a free version available). Also, make sure that your computer's security updates are kept up to date, and that any updates to your antivirus/malware removal software are installed.

The problem with your search results getting redirected sounds like you may have a rootkit infection. If that's the case, you should also run an application called TDSSkiller from Kapersky. It's a tool specifically designed to remove rootkits, since rootkits often aren't picked up by regular antivirus/malware removal software.

I would install and run Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware (you may need to do this in "safe mode", I forget). Then once they've removed any malware, reboot, download and run TDSSkiller, which should get rid of the rootkit, if you have one. Once the rootkit has been removed, run Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware again, to make sure you're clean. Then reboot again and you should be fine. Hope that helps!
