Strange client request, best way to go about it?

I just met with a potential offline client. The guy owns a big media company and is in the processes of launching 16 (yes sixteen) separate video sites. (for ex. video job interview site, video dating site). He was an SEO campaign for each of these totally unrelated sites.

Now I normally charge anywhere from $1200 TO $2000 per month for each URL (website) i market and I outsource a ton of well built backlinks and link pyramids and original content. I provide a high level of service which justifies my prices.

Now this guy obviously isn't going to pay me $2000 each for 16 websites ($32k a month for those of you without a calculator). But if i'm going to cut my prices to as low as he wants them, I need a solid way of cutting the work effort down significantly.

One example could be to build squidoo and other power pages, build link pyramids to them then use those already build pages to market all the sites simultaneously.

Anyone have any clever ideas? I may even be willing to share this client to anyone who has some great ideas.

Did he tell you his budget? If not, ask. Once you know what he's willing to spend you will decide whether or not to pursue.

You could also look at charging for what you personally would receive for 5 websites, and then only charge for the outsourcing for the rest.

What I mean is, for example:

Off one website, you'd make $1,200.00 of that $2,000.00 a month. Charge him $2,000.00 x 5 = $10,000.00 a month, that way you make a solid four figures monthly from this guy. Then for the other 11 video sites only charge $800.00 a month since that's what it would cost you.

I know that sounds like a huge loss, but if it doesn't require you more than 5 minutes per site every few days (since it's outsourced), is an extra $6k worth it?

I agree with Will, you must find out his budget first. One thing you must remember that each site is a separate job and will take as much work for each site so don't under sell yourself.
