Getting Offline Clients?

Hello all,

I am having a heck of a time landing new clients. I do not do IM or SEO...or anything really web related actually. What I do is video production, and I have been trying to partner with some SEO companies and Marketing companies to offer their clients my services.

Does anyone have experience on how to go about getting these connections?

any help will be greatly appreciated.

thanks!
Matt

    Hi Matt

Have you joined any networking groups (BNI, chamber of commerce....4Networking if in the UK).

These are excellent places to make new contacts for offline Joint ventures.

Alernatively, why not create a video showing off your skills then go google 'local' SEO and marketing companies.

Once you have found them put up a personalised web page for each SEO business that you find.

Create an introduction that can be easily customised and personalised for each company so that they think that you created the page JUST for them letting them know what you can do and how it would help their clients.

Contact each company letting them know that there is a personalised special edition video created exclusively for them with a special offer.

You are bound to get business that way and it is easy to locate the companies.

Hope it goes well for you

    Gary

i had similar questions but done some browsing and reading through various outsourcing posts on here and ive managed to hook up with a number of contractors and agencies to provide such IM & SEO services, all on skype too which really helps.

i've had some fee trials and low cost gigs to test their services and ive now narrowed down some decent resources.

do a search on the board for outsourcing (&JVs) and then hit the likes of odesk.com and guru.com and give it a go.

      good luck buddy

Thank all of you for your replies. I will try some of these ideas. I have tried to use Linkedin, I dont know where to start with that (I actually made another post about using Linkedin in the main forum), but I am learning. I will keep you all posted on my progress!

    Thanks again.

If you're looking for a guy to do sites (cough cough) just sayin :p

But try and find some partners on WF even, and then worst case just find a few good designers to design & code the sites. Just outsource it, your offline clients never have to know...

Do you have any past clients? It would be very easier for you to get new clients from old ones. Its one thing for you to tell some stranger you're good at whatever it is you do, but its another to have that stranger referred to you by their trusted friend, neighbor, dentist whoever.

Approach past clients and ask if they were happy with your work and they have any friends, fam, business associates that may have use for your services. You can do this with a simple follow up call or letter. I'd suggest you actually walk in and do it.

There are other ways for you to get clients, but on the top of my head I think this may be the easiest.

    Hope this helps,
    Ryan

You could barter with your first clients just to get going.

Find a service you actually need and see if they'll work with you.

If i were you I would probably contact local business around my area and work something out with them. Find a win win situation where both parties would benefit and get customers should do it.

    Matt,

    Here's a FRESH idea for you ...

I'm a magazine publisher in my local area ... I print a local community magazine where businesses can advertise their services. I'm sure you get offers in the mail ... coupon books, magazines etc. Try contacting the publishers of the coupon publications you get and offer your video services as an add on to their advertising!

    Hope that helps ... cheers

Video production - I guess the best thing is to joint venture with photographers / wedding planners, etc. this is for the offline part
For the online part, you have to create an online presence that should be targeted towards something very specific like for example "weddings in your area" and on your site you would offer a complete package where adding to what you do you will have the other services that you would outsource.
